Danick Landriault Eliminated in 6th Place (CA$250,000)

Level 34 : 800,000/1,600,000, 1,600,000 ante
Danick Landriault

Hand #14: Kevin Rabichow opened to 3.2 million from under the gun and Danick Landriault called from the big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and Landriault checked to Rabichow who continued for 2.4 million. Landriault called and the {2-Hearts} hit the turn.

Landriault checked again and Rabichow announced all in. Landriault only had 13 million behind and was forced to use two of his time extensions. Landriault eventually made the call and turned over {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Rabichow showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for a better pair and the {3-Clubs} on the river sent Landriault to the rail in sixth place.

Hand #61: Francois Billard raised to 4 million under the gun and Paul Fontan called on the button. From the small blind, Kevin Rabichow three-bets to 20 million total.

Joni Jouhkimainen used a time extension while in the big blind, and then opted to move all in for 75.1 million. Billard and Fontan folded, but Rabichow called.

Jouhkimainen: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Rabichow: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

Jouhkimainen was in horrible shape, and when the flop landed {8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{7-Spades}, he picked up some back door straight outs.

The {7-Diamonds} on the turn gave Jouhkimainen outs to a chop with any jack or eight seeing the pot split, while a queen would secure him the double.

The dealer burned and turned the {q-Spades} on the river to give the partypoker pro the check mark as he doubled into the chip lead with over 80 big blinds.

Hand #83: Paul Fontan opened to 5 million from under the gun, and Kevin Rabichow moved all in for 38.4 million in the cutoff. Action folded back to Fanton, and he called as players turned over their hands with Rabichow at risk of elimination.

Rabichow: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Fontan: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The dealer spread out {q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} on the flop and Rabichow was still ahead with his king kicker. A {7-Spades} peeled off on the turn and Fontan needed a jack to take down the pot. The {8-Hearts} hit the felt on the river and Rabichow's big slick took down the pot, securing a double through Fontan.

The dealers fanned out {9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} and Billard took the lead with his flopped jack. A {10-Diamonds} on the turn brought some straight draw outs for Fontan to stay alive. The river came down a {2-Clubs} and Fontan failed to hit, being eliminated out in fifth place by the jacks of Billard.
