Staples Crushing in WPT Super $55

partypoker Team Online member Jaime Staples is at the top of the counts now in WPT Super $55. He has 11.7 million and is the only one over 10 million, while he's also grabbed more than $300 in bounties with 67 left.

Staples is also still alive with 22 left in WPT Grand, and is now in the top ten with about 17.5 million for 4th place. Isaac Haxton is also in the top ten with almost 14 million chips, while Patrick Leonard is nursing a short stack in 20th. Joao Simao bowed out in 26th place for $2,929.

partypoker Adds New Hot Tables Stakes; Max Prize Now $1,000

partypoker launched its Hot Tables feature on April 11 and it has proven extremely popular thus far. Even more of the site’s cash game and fastforward players can experience the excitement of being at a Hot Table thanks to partypoker adding three new stakes to the roster.

There are now seven different stakes where Hot Tables can trigger courtesy of partypoker adding $0.01/$0.02, $0.02/$0.05, and $1/$2 cash games and fastforward tables to the feature. Trigger one of the Hot Tables at the $1/$2 tables, hit the biggest prize, and $1,000 is all your in addition to the pot you win.

Jerry Wong was the bubble in WPT Grand with a 48th place finish. That leaves the remaining 47 players guaranteed at least $2,255, but there's almost $60,000 up top for the win, with $194,283 of the $308,994 prize pool still to play for on the final table.

The final feature game today, WPT 7-Max Turbo Knockout, has just closed registration with 159 total entries. That meant they were a bit over $20,000 short of the $100,000 guarantee. A total of 27 players will get paid in this one, and there are 85 left.

Yong Announces Tentative Plans for Dusk till Dawn

Rob Yong has just confirmed on Twitter that legendary live cardroom Dusk till Dawn poker club in Nottingham, UK will re-open in Oct/Nov. However, due to all the ongoing uncertainty piled onto the effects of the last 18 months, for the duration of 2021 it will remain at "soft open" status.

The WPT Grand registration is now close with 307 entries in total. That put $308,994 into the middle in prizes, slightly above the $300,000 guarantee. Sergi Reixach still leads the way with almost 10 million chips, but Jaime Staples has a healthy stack of more than 5.6 million.

WPT Super $55 is also closed now, but it fell a bit short of the $125,000 guarantee with 2,268 entries. Anton Bløndal is the current leader there with about 1.15 million.

Staples also has a decent stack in the WPT Super $530, which is about to close as well. With only 314 entries, and three minutes to go, they'll be playing for the $200,000 guarantee in this one. Staples still has more than 400,000 chips in this one, with $250 in bounties collected so far.
