Players are playing the final hands and bagging chips. Partypoker Ambassador Anatoly Filatov from Russia can go to sleep tonight knowing he will come back with over 150 big blinds as he bagged a stack of 304,700 with tomorrow action kicking off with blinds at 1,000/2,000 with an ante of 300.

Filatov was having fun all day long whether he was chatting with fellow players, listen to music or filming on his Go Pro camera. One player even gave Filatov a refresher about a WSOP tournament a few years ago where they both went deep.

The Russian poker pro shared that he "feels cool" about his day with mostly everything going his way and "had fun and was entertained" at the same time. His day started off good and got better. Straight out of the gates, he chipped up against fellow partypoker Ambassador Natalia Breviglieri after hitting a runner-runner full house to beat her set.

After his early start, Filatov explained his key to success was "just winning a lot of pots."

As play on the day is wrapping up, a full list of chip counts as well as an end-of-day recap will follow shortly.

Day 1 in the Books: Anatoly Filatov Leads the High Roller at partypoker LIVE Million Germany

Anatoly Filatov will be the man to catch when the 2017 partypoker LIVE Million Germany High Roller restarts tomorrow.

After seven levels of 45 minutes each, Day 1 of the 2017 partypoker LIVE Million Germany €2,200 High Roller at King's Casino Rozvadov generated a total of 65 entries. Most of the field made it through with 48 hopefuls bagging up chips when the tournament clock was finally stopped just before midnight.

Play initially began on just one table before a handful of players joined in on the action, necessitating the opening of a second table. Among the early participants was partypoker Ambassador Natalia Breviglieri, and though the Brit got off to quite the start by four-betting ace-eight suited and rivering a straight against Norway's Lars Wik, she was also the first one out a couple of hours later after losing a big one to fellow team pro Anatoly Filatov before she ultimately shoved the remains of her stack into the straight of Jan Mach.

Breviglieri reentered but never succeeded in regaining momentum, and she busted her second bullet shortly before the end of the day. Filatov, however, never looked back, and more than tripled his starting stack during today's play. The Russian will have 304,700 chips when the tournament restarts - good enough for the overnight chip lead.

Another partypoker Ambassador in Rozvadov to not bag and tag any chips in this high roller was Jan-Peter Jachtmann. The German cash game specialist didn't register until late in the day thanks to the concurrent live streamed €100/€100 pot-limit Omaha game, which later became a €200/€200 game. Although he did take a seat in the tournament area around 10:30 p.m., he never managed to get anything going and busted within the hour. It doesn't seem likely the bracelet-holder will lose any sleep over his High Roller exit, as he ended up a €67,000 winner in the cash game, and the German is expected to make it back into the tournament during the late registration period tomorrow.

Other notables to advance includes EPT Grand Final winner Jan Bendik (267,100) and WSOP bracelet holder Paul Michaelis (195,000), while Germany's Phillip Gruissem (111,500) made it through despite having a tough day at the felt.

Another 35 entries are needed to reach the €200,000 guarantee but with late registration and reentry still available during the first three levels tomorrow, the total tally might very well end up surpassing the 100 players needed.

High Roller action will resume at midday tomorrow, and the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to provide you with every bad beat, cooler and hero call until a winner has been crowned. Furthermore, there will be coverage from the €1,000,000 guaranteed partypoker LIVE Million Germany Main Event tomorrow from 3 p.m., so don't forget to tune in for another great day of poker coverage.
