Chin Made To Take Another Shot

Anthony Chin
Anthony Chin

In Level 16 with blinds of 2,000/4,000 and an ante of 500, Anthony "supremetny" Chin open-jammed for 57,150 in middle position and action folded around to Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty in the big blind, who called.

Anthony "supremetny" Chin: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Ryan "simlSgg" Hagerty: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

The two were off to the races with Chin holding a narrow advantage. That gap widened on the flop {2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, but everything changed on the turn {k-Spades} as Hagerty improved to a pair of kings. Chin was unable to find a set on the river {9-Hearts} and found himself momentarily out of chips as a result, electing to take another shot in the final level before the closing of the late registration period.

Level 17 has begun and the prize pool has become official as a result of the late registration period coming to an end. Eighty-five entries generated a total prize pool of $17,000 that is set to be paid out to the top 14 finishers, all of whom will earn at least $349. Payouts will increase from there all the way up to the eventual winner, who will earn themselves $4,154 for their efforts. Complete payout information can be found in the Payouts Tab.

"SLHalper13" Gets a Double

"SLHalper13"
"SLHalper13"

In Level 18 with blinds of 3,000/6,000 and an ante of 750, "SLHalper13" shoved their last 52,000 into the middle preflop in middle position and action folded around to Michael "IIIIIIIIIIIII" Haberman, who was in the big blind and called.

"SLHalper13": {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Michael "IIIIIIIIIIIII" Haberman: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The flop {3-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} was of little direct interest to "SLHalper13", but the turn {10-Clubs} gave them tens up and put them out in front. They needed to fade Haberman's two overs plus their own overcard to the board, as it would give Haberman Broadway, and did just that as the river {5-Diamonds} completed the runout and earned them the double.

Stone Gets A Triple, Then Eliminates Vanauken

Katie Stone
Katie Stone

In Level 20 with blinds of 4,000/8,000 and an ante of 1,000, Katie "KatieStone" Stone was down to her last 38,000 and shoved from middle position. She received a call from Daniel "leinad' Buzgon in the hijack and then action folded around to Stephanie "Stephhub0331" Hubbard in the big blind, who re-jammed for 98,000. Buzgon called that shove as well and all three players' hands were shown.

Katie "KatieStone" Stone: {q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Stephanie "Stephhub0331" Hubbard: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Daniel "leinad" Buzgon: {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Hubbard had the best hand to begin with but Stone pulled ahead on the flop {j-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The situation remained unchanged through the turn {3-Hearts} and river {7-Spades} and Stone earned the triple while Hubbard won the side pot.

Moments later, Stone was once again involved in a hand with Eric "alwaysliquid" Vanauken, where Vanauken shoved all in preflop for 36,000 in early position and received a call from Stone, who was in the big blind.

Eric "alwaysliquid" Vanauken: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}
Katie "KatieStone" Stone: {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Once again, Stone connected with the flop {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and stayed in front through the turn {3-Diamonds} and river {a-Spades} to score another pot and bring herself up to 172,000, eliminating Vanauken along the way.

A handful of eliminations on either side of Vanauken now has the field down to 20.

Hubbard Loses A Coin Flip To Bust; Hand-For-Hand Begins On Final Two Tables

Stephanie Hubbard
Stephanie Hubbard

In Level 22 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 and an ante of 1,250, Stephanie "Stephhub0331" Hubbard scored a double just after break and then got all in preflop in the big blind against Katie "Katiestone" Stone, who was in the hijack.

Stephanie "Stephhub0331" Hubbard: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Katie "Katiestone" Stone: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Hubbard found herself on the wrong side of the coin flip as the board ran out {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}{q-Spades} to earn Stone the pot and the knockout with her pair of tens. At the same time as her elimination, Ted "roystalin" Ely was also eliminated, and the pair of eliminations brings the field down to 15 and one away from reaching the money.

Two tables now remain, and hand-for-hand play is in effect until one more elimination occurs.

Buzgon Crippled; The Bubble Bursts

"Wacek18"
"Wacek18"

Hand #1: In Level 24 with blinds of 8,000/16,000 and an ante of 2,000, action folded to Daniel "leinad" Buzgon in the small blind and he jammed for just under half a million effective. "xxx6395200" was in the big blind and called.

Daniel "leinad" Buzgon: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}
"xxx6395200": {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{k-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{k-Clubs} to give "xxx6395200xxx" quads en route to an easy double. Buzgon then doubled through "xxx6395200xxx" on the following hand to get a little bit of breathing room, while "Wacek18" found themselves at risk for their tournament life on the adjacent table.

Hand #2: "Wacek18" open-jammed under the gun for 82,000 and received a call from "King_Icon" in the cutoff. All remaining players folded.

"Wacek18": {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
"King_Icon": {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

After holding the chip lead through a solid portion of the late registration period, "Wacek18" needed to hit a three outer to stay alive and avoid becoming the bubble finisher in the tournament. Instead, they watched the board appear 100% in their opponent's favor, coming {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} to officially burst the bubble with "Wacek18" finishing in 15th place.
