Marchese Finds a Double

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Tom Marchese pushed his entire 154,000-chip stack in the middle preflop after Erik Seidel raised on the button. Seidel called and was dominated.

Marchese: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Seidel: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

Seidel failed to catch up on the {3-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Spades} board and Marchese doubled to 340,000 chips. Seidel still sits with 800,000 in his stack.

De Vries Doubles Again

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Action folded to Shander de Vries in the small blind who moved all in for 364,000. David Baker called from the big and the hands were opened.

De Vries: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Baker: {a-Clubs}{4-Clubs}

Baker was dominated, but the {5-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} gave him four more outs to a straight and a backdoor flush draw. The {j-Diamonds} on the turn left him with only his straight outs though, and the {5-Diamonds} on the river was no help.

De Vries doubled to 746,000 chips while Baker slipped to 550,000.

Lykov Doubles Through Molson, Takes Chip Lead

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Max Lykov opened to 50,000 from under the gun before Will Molson three-bet to 110,000 on the button. Lykov moved all in for 600,000 when it folded back to him and Molson made the call.

Lykov: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Molson: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}

It was a massive flip for just under 1.4 million chips and the dealer flopped {6-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}, which gave Molson some backdoor outs. The {2-Spades} on the turn squandered any backdoor possibilities however and the {9-Spades} on the river gave Lykov a full house just for fun.

Lykov raked in the monster pot and now sits with 1.384 million chips. Molson is now one of the short stacks with just 295,000.

Tom Marchese Eliminated in 11th Place ($92,490)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Tom Marchese - 11th Place
Tom Marchese - 11th Place

Tom Marchese open-shoved for around 320,000 with the button and Shander de Vries re-shoved from the small blind. David Baker got out of the way and the hands were tabled.

Marchese: {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
De Vries: {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

The {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop didn't change much, but the {6-Clubs} on the turn gave Marchese extra outs to counterfeit de Vries. The {10-Diamonds} on the river was not sufficient however and he was eliminated from the tournament.

De Vries is now in contention for the chip lead with 1.29 million.

Vamo Fernandez

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

PokerStars Team Pro Leo Fernandez opened with the button and was faced with a three-bet to 150,000 from Shander de Vries. Fernandez moved all in for over 600,000 and de Vries called.

Fernandez: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
De Vries: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Fernandez was dominated, and the {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop was no help. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn was a brick as well, leaving Fernandez with just three outs to make a pair of queens.

Bam! The {q-Hearts} spiked on the river giving Fernandez the winning hand and he was shipped a massive pot worth 1.45 million chips. With the loss, de Vries' stack shrunk to 410,000.

Déjà vu?

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante

Leo Fernandez and Shander de Vries got all the chips in the middle again and the hands looked very similar.

Fernandez: {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
De Vries: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

"How could you fall for that trick twice?" tablemate Erik Seidel joked to de Vries.

De Vries avoided the suck out this time though when the board ran {6-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and doubled to 660,000 chips.

Brandon Steven Eliminated in 10th Place ($110,985)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 3,000 ante
Brandon Steven - 10th Place
Brandon Steven - 10th Place

Leo Fernandex opened with a raise under the gun and found calls from Erik Seidel in the cutoff and Brandon Steven in the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and it was checked to Fernandez. He bet 85,000 and Steven was the lone caller. The turn brought the {K-Diamonds} and Steven got the rest of his chips in the pot, but was drawing dead with {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. Fernandez had the hand won with {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}, making the {8-Clubs} river card meaningless.
