Both headed to the 6♣ river that completed a possible flush draw. This time, Tang opted to lead for 250,000 and Kong mulled it over for a while to then fold.

Phua Jumps Into the Lead After Taking From Yu

Danny Tang limped the A♠J♣ and Chen Ming Kong called with the K♣Q♠, Winfred Yu checked his option with the 10♣8♥. The A♦J♠8♣ flop was checked and Tang then bet his two pair when the K♠ followed on the turn. Both opponents folded and Tang claimed the pot uncontested.

Paul Phua then limped the Q♦Q♣ and Jun Wah Yap did so with the J♦10♣. Yu raised to 380,000 with the A♦K♣ in the cutoff and Phua was the only caller.

The J♣9♠6♣ flop was checked by both and the 8♥ followed on the turn. Phua now bet and Yu folded to surrender the lead.

Kong Takes Over the Lead From Phua

Paul Phua limped in the cutoff with the 10♥9♦ and Chen Ming Kong checked the K♣8♣, which led them to the K♠10♦7♦ flop. While only having second pair, Phua bet 100,000 and picked up a call by Kong.

After the 9♣ turn, Phua made it 300,000 to go and Kong used a time bank extension before coming along. The K♥ on the river restored the preflop order as Kong improved to trips.

Following a check by Phua, Kong used yet another time bank and then bet 500,000. There was some apparent temptation for Phua but he eventually folded as Kong took over the lead for the first time.
