2020 Pennsylvania Championship of Online Poker [PACOOP]

A break from big-bet-only games came by way of PACOOP-19: $200 8-Game, $15K GTD on Friday night, and it proved to be a hit. The eight-game mixed event drew 93 entries (70 entrants and 23 re-entries), generating an overall prize pool of $17,298 that was paid out to the top 11 players.

When the dust settled, "orionguide108" was the last one standing, coming out on top after a nearly two-hour-long final table they entered as one of the two chip leaders. One by one, players fell until three remained, and 40 minutes then went by as "orionguide108" pulled away from the pack before knocking out the last two players in quick succession to take down the top prize of $4,219.

Players were forced to remain on their toes all tournament long as the eight-game rotation cycled through a different format of poker every six minutes. Twenty-six players registered from the start, though that number was into the 60s halfway through the three-hour-and-five-minute late registration period, and it continued to climb steadily until its final resting point at 93.

When registration closed, 41 players remained and it took just over 90 minutes for the bubble to burst with the final 11 set to be paid. Just moments later, hand-for-hand was once again enacted as just eight remained, though some 20 minutes passed before "pa55555" was eliminated in eighth place by "king12929" to reach the final table of seven.

Despite bursting the final table bubble, "king12929" was also the first to bust on the final table. They did so during 2-7 Triple Draw, with "pariszoo11" bowing out in sixth shortly thereafter during the same game. By the time 2-7 Triple Draw was reached again, action was three handed and "orionguide108" eliminated "hunterm708" from the tournament in third, taking a lead into the heads-up match that they would never relinquish.

With blinds of 17,500/35,000 and bets of 35,000/70,000, "12356ers" raised on the button and was three-bet by "orionguide108" in the big blind. "123456ers" capped it and "orionguide108" called. "123456ers" had 10,000 remaining and it went in on the flop .

"123456ers" was ahead when cards were shown on the flop, but "orionguide108" proved to have too many outs as the turn and river gave them two pair, eights and fives to best the queens of "123456ers" and eliminate them from the tournament in second place for a payday of $3,214.

"orionguide108" has become the winner of PACOOP-19, earning $4,219 for their efforts. A tournament recap will be posted shortly.

2-7 Triple Draw

With blinds of 15,000/30,000 and bets of 30,000/60,000, "hunterm708" raised on the button and "orionguide108" defended their big blind. "orionguide108" drew three and "hunterm708" stood pat, and then "orionguide108" check-called a continuation-bet from "hunterm708".

Second draws went one and pat, and "orionguide108" led out thereafter. "hunterm708" went all in for less than a full raise and "orionguide108" called, and then both players stood pat on the final draw to take the hand to showdown.

"hunterm708" had been dealt a pat ten but "orionguide108" outdrew them and picked up a nine to knock them out of the tournament in third place.

With blinds of 6,250/12,500, "hunterm708" completed the small blind and called a pot-sized raise to 37,500 from "123456ers" in the big blind. Action checked through flop and "hunterm708" made a pot-sized bet of 75,000 on the turn . "123456ers" called.

The river fell and "hunterm708" bet half the size of the pot, totaling 112,500. "123456ers" called again and the hand went to showdown.

"hunterm708" showed for a pair of jacks, which was no good to the that "123456ers" held for a flopped straight that became Broadway on the river. With the pot, "123456ers" is now over 1 million and is the chip leader with three still remaining in the tournament.
