Sullivan vs. Gomes

Speaking of stacked tables, we just discovered one with a plethora of big names including Tim "Calvin32" Sullivan, Alexandre "Allingomes" Gomes, Nenad "serb2127" Medic, and Team PokerStars Pros Pat Pezzin and Dag Palovic.

In a recent hand, Gomes raised to 750 after a couple players limped in, but was quickly met with a three-bet to 1,975 by Sullivan. The rest of the field cleared out, while Gomes called the additional 1,225. Both players proceeded to check the {8-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} flop, leading to the {4-Clubs} turn. At this point, Sullivan bet 2,150, Gomes called, and the {3-Spades} peeled off on the river.

Sullivan kept the pressure on with a 4,450 bet, which Gomes called. Sullivan rolled over {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks, but it was no good against the {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs} of Gomes. The Brazilian pro chipped up to 41K on the hand.

Palovic Sliding

Pat Pezzin opened under the gun for 343 and received calls from Dag Palovic and Alexandre "Allingomes" Gomes in the small and big blinds respectively. When the flop came down {10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, action checked to Pezzin, who bet 725. Both his opponents made the call and watched as the {9-Spades} hit the turn. All three players checked, leading to the {4-Spades} river.

Palovic took the initiative and bet 1,200, but Gomes quickly popped it to 2,980. Pezzin got out of the way and Palovic made the call, only to muck when Gomes rolled over {Q-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a straight. The Slovakian pro dropped to 7,557 after the hand.

"RealAndyBeal" the Real Deal

You probably recognize the name Andy Beal from the book, The Professor, the Banker, and the Suicide King by esteemed poker author Michael Craig. Unfortunately, the man who goes by the moniker "RealAndyBeal" is not the rich Texan who took on poker's best in what some have called the biggest game ever played; instead, it is high-stakes regular Niki Jedlicka, who has decided to take a break from the ring games for a shot at WCOOP glory.

In a recent hand, "faith8" opened for 500 in early position and was met with a three-bet to 1,234 by Jedlicka. Action folded back to faith8, who made the call. The {Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} flop saw faith8 check-call a bet of 1,632, leading to the {4-Spades} turn. Once again faith8 check-called a bet, this time 3,669, and the {6-Hearts} was put out on the river. Jedlicka fired out 6,622 after his opponent checked, which faith8 called. Jedlicka revealed {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} for top pair with top kicker, and it was good enough to collect the 26,839 pot.

Ramdin in the Red

Four players committed 450 each to see a flop of {6-Spades}{9-Hearts}{A-Hearts}, which "huge.fishh" bet 1,200 after action checked to him. Team PokerStars Pro Victor Ramdin was the only player to make the call, leading to the {5-Clubs} turn. Huge.fishh led out for 2,600, Ramdin called, and the {5-Hearts} appeared on the river. Again Ramdin simply called a bet, this time 7,800, only to much when huge.fishh rolled over {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for sixes full of fives. Ramdin was knocked down to just 6,500 after the hand.

Reynolds Takes a Hit

William Reynolds
William Reynolds

William "Altrum Altus" Reynolds raised to 480 in the cutoff and watched as "kmichael14" three-bet to 1,260 in the small blind.

A call from Reynolds landed a {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop which "kmichael14" bet 1,240 at. Reynolds called and the {8-Spades} hit the turn. This time "kmichael14" fired 3,123. Another call from Reynolds resulted in the {K-Clubs} river which "kmichael14" checked. Reynolds took his time before betting 5,250, but "kmichael14" came over the top with an all-in raise for 14,218.

Reynolds called with {A-Spades}{K-Spades} for trips with top kicker, but it was second best to "kmichael14's" {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for a full house.
