Welcome to PokerNews' coverage of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker Main Event. Three weeks of intense tournament action culminates with the most prestigious online tournament of the year. In 2010, Tyson "POTTERPOKER" Marks topped a field of 2,443 for a whopping $2,278,097.50 first-place prize. While we don't expect those kinds of numbers this year, a seven-figure payday for first place is guaranteed.
Many of the best players in the game will be on the virtual felt today, including ones that relocated with this event serving as big reason why. Among them are Canada's Steve "gboro780" Gross and Adam "Roothlus" Levy, Mexico's Shaun "shaundeeb" Deeb, and Croatia's McLean "PureProfitFo" Karr.
Throughout the day we will provide updates on many of your favorite players, as well as listing the top 5-10 stacks every level. The action kicks off at 2pm ET, about an hour from now, so we'll see you then!
