The first day of WCOOP-75-H: $1,050 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO, Series Saver] $1 Million Guarantee has now come to an end after just under eight lively hours of play. Day 1 saw a tremendous turnout with 1,490 entries which created a $1,490,000 prize pool that went well beyond the one million guarantee that was set.
When the last chance saloon had closed for business it was "xhunterfish" leading the final 135 runners. "xhunterfish" stayed under the radar for the better part of the day but brought some action during the latter stages of the day and it paid off for the Luxembourg native as they sit atop the leaderboard with 3,917,898 in chips.
Rounding out the top five to make it through to the final day include "dodi papa" (3,111,077), "kimokh" (3,099,031), Renato "renaton" Nomura (3,057,549), and Gary "quiditbear" Hasson (3,048,357). Nomura is probably the best-known player of the top five, with over $300,000 in live cashes, not including his online that exceed that.

Action of the Day
The first day of this event started off with a bang asLuan "Pseudo Fruto" Felipe snatched a bounty on the first hand of the day. He managed to secure a bounty but failed to make the money, falling out in 331st place but he was not the only notable runner that didn't make Day 2 and some others in his boat include Elias "SinKarma" Gutierrez, Thomas "WushuTM" Muehloecker, Mike "SirWatts" Watson, Michel "FreeLancerZZ" Dattani, and Murilo "Muka82" Figueiredo.
Jon "apestyles" Van Fleet was seen soaring near the top for the middle part of the day but might have gotten a bit too close and burned out shortly after, sending almost all of his chips to Rafael "rafitia" Camargo who now is headed into the final day with a top 10 stack. The hand saw Van Fleet three-bet pre and barrel on every street with just king-high and Camargo called down the entire way with the set of johnnies that he flopped. Camargo took what was then the biggest bounty of the day, catapulting him to the top at the same time.
The flow of things slowed down on level 19 as the bubble approached and it took just one round for it to pop on level 20. All runners were then guarnateed at least a min-cash of $1,100. Once the bubble had burst the play quickly sped up and players quickly started to fall to the wayside. Losing about 60 more players during the next 20-minutes, halting at 135 to end the night with all returning tomorrow to battle down to a winner that will be taking home the WCOOP title along with $97,526 for their victory.
Day 2 will start Tuesday, September 22 at 1:05 ET and will have a live stream following all of the action. The blinds will remain at 20 minutes in length, with all players getting a five-minute break 55 minutes past every hour. The day will not end until a winner has been crowned, taking down the title and all of that cold hard cash.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing you all of the action as the remainder of the tournament unfolds, so tune in tomorrow!
