The Sky Has Fallen

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Sky Matsuhashi has just been knocked out, and we asked him how the action went down. After a limper it was Matsuhashi who decided to move all in for his last 10 big blinds, and the limper called with {7-}{7-}. Matsuhashi's {A-}{4-} could not improve and he hit the rail empty-handed.

Harrington Loses Huge Flip Against Haytko

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante

Brent Harrington was just spotted on the rail, and he explained to us how he lost most of his chips to James Haytko.

Harrington three-bet Haytko's raise to 7,000 up to 20,000 from the big blind and Haytko shoved for about 100,000 with {A-}{K-}. Harrington paused before calling with {9-}{9-}, but the board was not kind to him.

After this hand Harrington had 46,000 chips left and he ended up all in with tens against nines. Harrington's opponent flopped a set of nines, and that spelled the end for mixed game enthusiast.

Stagnitto Climbing

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Gina Stagnitto
Gina Stagnitto

Day 1b chip leader Gina Stagnitto has built her stack up to nearly 280,000 in chips.

Her biggest triumph of that day came when she flopped quad nines with pocket nines against James Murray's pocket tens. The money went in on the turn after Murray turned a full house thanks to a ten hitting the felt. That doubled Stagnitto up, and she hasn't looked back from there.

Apostol Hits the Rail

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 400 ante
Tyson Apostol and Eric Ethans
Tyson Apostol and Eric Ethans

Former Survivor winner Tyson Apostol has just been knocked out from the tournament, by the hands of the overwhelming chip leader; Eric Ethans.

The action started with Apostol limping under the gun, and another player limped before Eric Ethans put both players all in from the big blind. Apostol had about 100,000 chips to start the hand, and after a while he decided to call it off.

The other limper folded and the showdown in this massive pot went as following:

Ethans: {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}
Apostol: {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Ethans apologized for knocking Apostol out.

"I looked at the prizes for the first few payout spots, and I decided I didn't care much for those, so I went for it," Apostol said after getting knocked out.

No Fifth Cash for Recker

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 400 ante
William Recker
William Recker

William Recker will not get his fifth straight cash at Run it Up Reno, but his run this week was very impressive to say the least. Recker just came up to our table and explained how he shoved for his last 40,000 chips and got called by a player holding {A-}{J-}. Recker tabled {A-}{7-} and his inferior ace could not mount a comeback.
