Welcome to Day 1a of the Run It Up Reno VIII Main Event at Peppermill Casino
The Run It Up Reno VIII has been a great series thus far, and starting today it will culminate with the $600 buy-in, $250K GTD Main Event.
The tournament is played with a big blind ante, 40-minute levels, and a 25,000-starting stack. Registration and re-entries will be open through the first 12 levels. When heads-up play is reached levels will change to 20 minutes. There will be a 15-minute break every three levels with a 60-minute dinner break at the end of Level 9.
Last October, this tournament had a $200K guarantee, which it crushed by attracting 687 entries and generating a $366,515 prize pool. Among those to get a piece of it that we expect to see in action today are Arlie Shaban (15th - $2,720), Chris Moneymaker (19th - $2,350), Jimmy Cappucci (22nd - $2,050), Alan Mastin (32nd - $1,630), and Andrew Neeme (44th - $1,330).
In the end, Twitch streamer and Big Brother Canada winner Kevin Martin and Charity Series of Poker founder Matt Stout battled it out in heads-up play. The latter ultimately prevailed to claim the title and $70,000 first-place prize.
