Ross Takes Overwhelming Chip Lead

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Josh Ross Stacking Chips
Josh Ross Stacking Chips

Two of the chip leaders just went head-to-head for a pot worth more than 300,000, and Josh Ross finished on top. We walked over to Table 3 to see Ross and Bob Koentegen staring at a board of {4-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}. Koentegen was standing in disbelief as he was the victim of a set-over-set situation; Koentegen's {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} was no good against Ross' {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} after all the chips went in on the flop.

Ross now boasts a massive stack of 330,000, while Koentegen was crippled down to 5,000.

Mansour's Aces Hold

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We've seen aces cracked several times today, but they held up for Rio Mansour. He opened to 5,500 preflop from early position and received a call from four players, bringing a flop of {9-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. Marcy Jo Penkalski checked her small blind and the player in the big blind moved all in for 22,000. Mansour called, and the other three players got out of the way. Mansour's {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} was in front against the {K-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, and the bigger pair held up through the {6-Clubs} turn and {Q-Clubs} river.

With that, we're down to 29 players.
