Cracking The Six-Figure Mark

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Max Droege
Max Droege

Max Droege moves into the lead now as the midway point approaches.

He's got 145,000 after flopping a Broadway straight with {k-}{j-} on an {a-}{q-}{10-} board with two spades. Two players with spade draws got it in against Droege and he faded all trouble to move into the top spot.

In the meantime, Bradley Girdler is playing any two and it's working. He's cracked the six-figure mark getting there too many times to count already.

Bryan Irish-Jones also joins them above six figures after running red hot in the early levels. He made the nut flush over a nine-high flush, turned Broadway to stack a player and found a set of queens on an ace-high flop to collect another big pot on his way to 110,000.

Walker Climbs; Spears Runs

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante
Nick Walker
Nick Walker

Nick Walker got over 100,000 the hard way.

He won a 35,000-chip pot when he woke up with pocket kings and four limpers in front of him. Walker raised and one limper spazzed off 15,000 with the {k-}{7-}. A number of medium sized pots later he defended his blind against a James Miller raise, turning a flush with the {6-Spades}{4-Spades} and getting paid.

In the meantime, Andy Spears cracked the six-figure mark the easy way.

He three-bet with the {a-Hearts}{a-Spades} preflop and got a call. The caller checked the {9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, but check-raised all in after Spears made it 9,000. Spears called it off and was disappointed to see the {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

The {j-Spades} turned changed little, but Spears spiked on the {a-Clubs} river to felt another unlucky player and move to a spot near the top of the counts heading into Level 8.

Cathy Schenone
Cathy Schenone

Elmira, NY's Cathy Schenone says she's living the good life.

Perks include picking up pocket aces three times and having the same player lead into you.

First he had {k-}{6-}, then {j-}{3-}, and finally, the third time was a charm as he had a real hand, the {q-}{q-}, and gave away the rest of his chips to her.

The Droege Report

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante
Sandra Boyle
Sandra Boyle

Max Droege continues to lead here going into a 15-minute color-up break.

He dipped a bit, but got all that back and more when he flopped two pair and made fives over queens on the river against a player holding the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}.

In the meantime, Burlington, ON, Canada's Sandra Boyle just made a set of tens to crack William Liang's pocket aces.

The 2015 Seneca Niagara Falls Summer Slam Main Event champ is now short as Boyle moves well past the 100,000-chip mark.

The 15-minute break starts now with 123 of 182 remaining.

Justin Villa
Justin Villa

2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic Event #1 champ Kristan Mackiewicz got in the Main Event through a satellite last night and just peaked her head above water for the first time today.

She tossed in her last 13,300 in on a {K-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop four-handed. Three folds allowed her to drag a pot of almost the same size and Mackiewicz showed {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}.

In the meantime, Rochester, NY's Justin Villa has moved across the six-figure mark making a couple of big hands.

These include a gift with a straight versus top pair, and a hand where his {a-}{j-} hit a gutshot to the nuts, getting paid off by the second nuts.

Into The Breach

Level 9 : 400/800, 100 ante
Not Sandra Boyle, Daniel Wagner, John Stempien or Thomas Clayton
Not Sandra Boyle, Daniel Wagner, John Stempien or Thomas Clayton

Sandra Boyle now leads heading into the last level before the dinner break after teaching Daniel Wagner a few tricks and charging a tuition fee.

In the meantime, 2015 Seneca Fall Poker Classic Event #4 sixth-place finisher Thomas Clayton has crept up behind her. He got it up above 150,000 after getting it in with tens against a flush draw. He held there before dominating another player when they got it in for heaps with {a-}{q-} versus {a-}{j-} on an {a-}{k-}{2-} flop.

Plus, John Stempien has crept above the six-figure mark, finally solving Bradley Girdler. Stempien shoved a flush draw and got there against Girdler's smaller one.

The clock struck six and it's suddenly ladies night at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino.

Not only are there two-for-one margaritas at all casino bars, but Sandra Boyle keeps chipping up and it appears she'll take the lead into the dinner break.

In the meantime, 2015 Seneca Niagara Fall Poker Classic Event #1 champ Kristan Mackiewicz goes into the dinner break on a massive heater, having picked up aces three out of fives hands.

She busted one player shoving into them with {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} on the third and now has 90,000 and counting.
