Peter Raimondi joined eight limpers to a flop on the button, but he was the only one to call when one opponent bet 2,000 into the rainbow flop.
He called again when that same opponent bet 3,500 at the turn. The river brought the and when his opponent bet 3,000, Raimondi shipped it in for some 20,000 chips.
"Your ace-rag is no good," he said, goading his opponent into a call he would eventually make.
Raimondi turned over and dragged the pot with trips as his opponent mucked, pushing his stack up to 46,000.
Jimmy Thomson has jumped into the early lead here after two massive hands.
First he flopped a set of fives and fired barrel after barrel until he got it all in on the river and got paid. Then he tangled with the same player again, getting his opponent's last 11,000 chips all in pre-flop with queens versus sevens.
Thomson's foe flopped a set, but he rivered a queen to make a better one and send him packing.
