Day 1b Started
For most, the Fall represents cooler temperatures, multi-colored leaves and the hope that Winter is far in the distance. At Seneca Niagara Casino, the Fall means another Poker Classic is about to begin with more intense action each year.
The 2016 Seneca Fall Poker Classic kicks off today with a bigger buy-in and a bigger guarantee! Last year's first event featured a $200 entry with a $50,000 guarantee. This year, the Niagara Falls Poker Room has upped the ante and the buy-in will be $300 with a whopping $75,000 in the prize pool.
This room has a reputation for bringing in the area's toughest competition while attracting players from near and far, smashing guarantees with four flights across two starting days. The morning flights kick off at 10:00AM, with the evening flights getting started at 6:00PM.
This morning's flight brought in 110 entries, so expect big numbers throughout the weekend!
Players will start the day with 15,000 in tournament chips and 30-minute levels throughout the starting flights, with play increasing to 40-minute levels on Day 2.
Registration, with unlimited re-entries, will be open for eight levels - approximately 2:25PM for the morning flights, and 10:25PM for the evening flights.
Play will complete at the end of Level 14, or when 12% of the field remains, whichever comes first.
As was the case last year, players who choose to fire multiple levels are able to bring forward their largest stack heading into Day 2 on Sunday at 11:00AM.
Last year's winner, Kristan Mackiewicz, took down the first event with a prize pool of almost $100,000. Look for her and all of Western New York's grinders among the field this weekend as PokerNews brings you live updates from start to finish!

The river was the . The small blind check again, and Van Brussel bet 2,000. The button thought about it and eventually decided to call. The small blind folded.
Van Brussel tabled for top set, and his opponent said, "I didn't expect that. I thought maybe queen-ten" as he tabled, and then mucked, for top pair with a king kicker.
