"Wild" Bill Romer opened for 525 from early position, and Michael Horchoff three-bet to 1,200 on the button. Kenny Milam made the call out of the big blind, and Romer came along as well.
Everyone checked the flop, but those checks may have been deceptive because action sprang to life on the turn after two more checks. "You have the nuts?" Benton asked him. He didn't, but he did have the lead.
Sifuentes:
Benton:
Hijack:
The player in the hijack was drawing dead, but Benton could still win the pot if the board paired. The river brought the , and Benton celebrated while the dealer counted out stacks. Sifuentes was covered, so Benton took both players' stacks.
