From August 17-25, the MSPT was back in Battle Creek, Michigan, and attendance was up as 301 entrants packed the poker room and created a prize pool of $301,000. Amazingly, there were some familiar faces at the final table in Patrick Steele and Adam Lamphere.
Like he did at the first final table, Steele finished in fourth place, a feat that helped him capture the MSPT Season 4 Player of the Year title. Similarly, Lamphere finished as runner-up for the second time in a row. It was disappointing for him to come so close in back-to-back MSPT FireKeepers Main Events, but the $42,118 consolation prize no doubt helped ease the pain.
In the end it was Jordan Townsend, who was sporting a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt, that stopped Lamphere and took the title and $76,975 first-place prize for himself.
Here’s a look at the second MSPT FireKeepers final table:

We walked up to a three-way pot and a board that read . Rob Wood pushed all in for 4,575 and an unknown player called. Dee Bell called as well and we were still three ways, but with only Bell and the unknown having chips. The unknown pushed his last 4,525 into the pot on the turn and Bell made the call.
Wood and Bell were both trailing as their over pairs were under the jacks of the unknown. Woods eights were no good, but Bell hit the miracle nine on the river to match her pocket pair. Wood, who just recently had a healthy stack is gone, as is the unknown player and Bell is up to over 50,000.

Adam Friedman opened for 650 from early position and received a call from Rick Terrill in middle position. The hijack came along, as did Ken Payne in the small blind, and four players saw a flop of . Two checks put action on Terrill, and he fired out 3,5000.
It did the trick as one by one his opponents folded.
"So brutal," said Friedman, who was last to fold. He then flashed the . Terrill obliged and showed a ten.
