Zarlenga, Romer Back In

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Jason Zarlenga
Jason Zarlenga

Bill Romer and Jason Zarlenga have burned through early bullets and are not on their last chances in this tournament. An early bluff cost Zarlenga much of his stack, and we didn't see what befell Romer.

Vang Gets a Lucky Flop

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante

Yer Vang opened to 550 under the gun and was called in two spots before the small blind reraised to 1,500. Vang called, as did one other player. On the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop, the small blind bet 2,100 and Vang raised to 8,000. That chased the third player away, and the player under the gun called. The {q-Diamonds} paired the board, and the small blind checked. Vang splashed enough to put his opponent all in for 4,200.

The player sighed and leaned back.

"He has me covered?" he said, standing up. "Alright, I'll go home."

He turned over {k-Clubs}{k-Spades} but indeed was way behind Vang's {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}. No queen or king arrived to save him on the river.

"Nice hand," he said.

"Lucky flop," Vang replied.

Schneider Caught Bluffing

Level 3 : 100/200, 0 ante
Mike Schneider
Mike Schneider

A player in the blinds checked to Mike Schneider on a board of {k-Hearts}{a-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Spades}{q-Diamonds} after both players put in what looked to be 1,500 on the turn. Schneider bet 2,500, and his opponent called.

"You win," Schneider said, turning up {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. His opponent showed {a-Clubs}{9-Hearts}.

Players are on break for 10 minutes.

Thurlow Busted

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Justin Thurlow put his last 1,375 all in from early position and was called by Yer Vang in the small blind. David Rockvam woke up with a raise to about 5,000 in the big, and Vang tanked awhile and folded.

Rockvam: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}
Thurlow: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

A {j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop gave Thurlow a gutter and a backdoor flush draw, but no further help materialized.

Sandness, Vang, Down to Final Shots

Level 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Kou Vang
Kou Vang

Mark Sandness and Kou Vang just got sent to the reentry desk from the same table in a span of a few minutes. Both have had tons of success on the Mid-States Poker Tour, with Sandness taking down an event here at Running Aces last year and Vang narrowly missing Player of the Year honors in 2014.

Vang already fired up his reentry, while Sandness is hovering near the registration desk.
