Cvetezar Check-Bombs the Turn

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

On the final hand of the previous level, Jeff Cvetezar opened to 900 from under the gun and saw action fold around to Jason Zarlenga, who three-bet to 2,700 from the cutoff. The player on the button cold called and Cvetezar matched the raise to take postflop action three ways.

The flop came {8-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Spades} and Cvetezar checked to Zarlenga, who made a continuation-bet of 3,200. The player on the button let his hand go to put action back on Cvetezar, who called.

The turn was {3-Clubs} and Cvetezar checked again. Zarlenga asked Cvetezar if he had two purple (T5,000) chips behind and Cvetezar moved his hands, displaying his entire stack which appeared to close to 23,000. Zarlenga then fired out 7,200.

Cvetezar thought for a full minute as time expired on the level and then proceeded to check-raise all in, making it Zarlenga's turn to go into the tank. Zarlenga asked for a count, which was totaled to be 22,900.

After three minutes of deliberation, Zarlenga let his hand go and the pot was sent Cvetezar's way.

Field Exceeds Guaranteed Prize Pool; Exceeds 200 Entries

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

The tournament clock now reads 205 entries a chunk of the way into Level 6, meaning that the $300,000 guaranteed prize pool has been surpassed as the two-day total has reached 325 entries and counting. That figure is sure to climb throughout the night, as late registration will remain open for more than another four hours on the day.

Nelson Busts One, More Than Doubles

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante
Glen Nelson
Glen Nelson

Preflop action led to a three-way all in between a player in early position who was in for about 3,500, Glen Nelson in middle position who was all in for just over 10,000, and a player in the small blind who covered both of the all-in players.

Early-Position Player: {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Glen Nelson: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

Nelson had the best hand to start with a pair of sevens but would need a safe runout to stay alive. The flop {2-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades} gave the shortest stack a wheel draw and the turn {4-Diamonds} paired him as well. However, the river {j-Diamonds} left Nelson's hand on top as he won both pots and added a sizeable increase to his stack along the way.

Flop Raise Works for Rogowski

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Andy Rogowski
Andy Rogowski

Aaron Massey saw action folded to him in the hijack and opened to 1,300. Andy Rogowski was on the button and called, as did the small blind to take action three ways to the streets.

The flop came {4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades} and the small blind checked. Massey made a continuation-bet of 1,900 to put action onto Rogowski, who threw in a raise to 5,100. The small blind folded.

With action back on Massey, he went into the tank for close to two minutes and then sent his cards forward from the five-seat into the center of the table for the dealer to muck, resulting in Rogowski taking down the pot.
