Zamani Wins a Big One Without Showdown

HillKerby • Level 27: 30,000-60,000, 60,000 ante
Martin Zamani

Satoshi Tanaka opened the action with a raise to 140,000 in the cutoff and received a call from Martin Zamani, who was on the button. Daniel Kusnerak three-bet to 725,000 in the small blind and both players called to take three-way action to the streets.

The flop dropped {8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and both Kusnerak and Tanaka checked. Zamani bet 600,000 and got a fold from Kusnerak before Tanaka made the call.

Action was then heads up to the turn {4-Spades} where Tanaka checked again. Zamani went all in, putting Tanaka to the test for his remaining chips. Tanaka thought for over a minute and then folded.

"We had it, boys!" said Zamani and tabled {a-Diamonds} without showing his other card.

At the same time, there was a pile of chips in the middle on the other table in a heads-up pot involving Zachary Grech in the hijack and Jorden Helstern, who was on the button. Grech bet 150,000 on a board of {5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} and Helstern shoved for about four-times that amount.

Grech wound up folding and Helstern took down the pot.
