Satoshi Tanaka Eliminated in 5th Place ($65,555)

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 80,000 ante
Satoshi Tanaka
Satoshi Tanaka

Hand #1: Satoshi Tanaka opened on the button to 350,000 and Martin Zamani announced a re-shove all in. Tanaka asked how much and Zamani said about 4.3 million, a figure close to Tanaka's. Tanaka wasted no further time calling.

Martin Zamani: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Satoshi Tanaka: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Diamonds ran amok as the board came {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to give Zamani the pot, leaving Tanaka drawing dead on the turn. Zamani's stack was totaled to be 4.505 million, just shy of Tanaka's to leave him on fumes.

Hand #2: On the following hand, Tanaka shoved and once again received action from Zamani.

Satoshi Tanaka: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Martin Zamani: {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

More diamonds spelled the end of Tanaka's night as the runout came {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} to once again give Zamani a flush. Both players laughed at the runout.

"Good game, dude," said Zamani jovially. Tanaka received it equally well and the table congratulated him on a hard-fought fifth-place finish. With his elimination, the tournament director just told the four remaining players that the ante value will be switched to that of a small blind for short-handed play through the duration of the tournament.
