Pratt Makes the Right Fold

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Denise Pratt
Denise Pratt

We caught the action on the turn on a board of {8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades} and about 7,000 in the middle.

Shane McDaniel, first to act, checked and Denise Pratt bet 4,000. McDaniel then immediately check-raised it to 10,000, which, after a few moments, got a reluctant fold from Pratt. McDaniel tabled {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}, which got a happy response from Pratt who said she folded aces.

Keeline Sends Moreno to the Rail

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

After a series of preflop raises Robert Moreno was all in and at risk against Ben Keeline, who barely had him covered.

Ben Keeline: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Robert Moreno: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

The {8-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop was good for Moreno and the {4-Hearts} turn kept him in the lead, but the {a-Spades} river sent his remaining stack to Keeline.

Kfir Nahum Seeks Second MSPT Venetian Title

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Kfir Nahum
Kfir Nahum

Back in 2018, Kfir Nahum won the MSPT Poker Bowl II here at the Venetian for $108,410 after a four-way deal.

He's in today's field looking for a second MSPT title, but in a recent hand dropped a few chips.

It happened after Nahum opened for 900 from the cutoff and the player in the small blind called. The big blind got out of the way and it was heads-up action to the {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, which both players checked.

On the {q-Hearts} turn, the player in the small blind checked and then called when Nahum bet 1,500.

Action then went check-check on the {8-Spades} river and the small blind showed the {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for ace-high. It was good though as Nahum sent his hand to the muck.

Gavin Takes It on the River

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante
Lexy Gavin
Lexy Gavin

A player in early position limped and MSPT Venetian Poker Bowl IV champ Bob Whalen did the same next to act. When action reached RunGood Gear Ambassador Lexy Gavin in the small blind, she put in the additional 200 and the big blind checked their option to make it four-way action to the {5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop.

Gavin opted to lead out for 700 and the player in the big blind folded. The original limper called, Whalen got out of the way, and the dealer burned and turned the {7-Spades}.

Both players checked and the {3-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Gavin opted to bet again, this time 2,000, and that did the trick as her opponent wasted little time in folding.

Aces for August

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

After three players limped in front of him Leo August raised from the button.

The initial limper then three-bet to 3,800, August four-bet shoved and his opponent called all-in.

Leo August: {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}
Opponent: {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}, which meant no sweat for August on this cold day in January.

Big Slick for Berthiaume

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

After the button-player raised to 1,500, the small-blind player three-bet shoved for 9,800, which got a call from Brian Berthiaume in his big blind and a fold from the original raiser.

Brian Berthiaume: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
All-in Player: {7-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, which meant that Berthiaume hit the trifecta of getting his blinds back, knocking out a player and adding some extra chips to his stack

Khachatryan Cracks Aces

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

The action was headsup and there was already a sizable pot in the middle on the {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{8-Clubs} runout before one player moved all in.

The other player in the hand, Sarkis Khachatryan, snap-called and the players tabled their hands.

Sarkis Khachatryan: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
