Baghdasarian Takes a Big One With Aces

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Nova Baghdasarin
Nova Baghdasarin

With the board reading {3-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, Jeffery Walker already had a bet of 17,500 in front of him, but he was facing a raise to 50,000 from Nova Baghdasarian.

Walker thought it over before moving all in for a little more than the raise and was called.

Jeffery Walker: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Nova Baghdasarian: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

Walker's top pair was beaten by aces and the {4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} runout was no help as Baghdasarian moved to about a quarter million.

With the start of Level 13, late registration is closed.

Day 1c saw 185 entries and there are currently 36 players remaining.

Play will continue until there are 22 players left, or until the end of Level 15, whichever comes first.

This brings the total number of entries through all Day 1's to 436. The field smashed the $300,000 guarantee, and the prize pool is still being finalized but first place will take home more than $90,000.

Klassen Flushes Kings With Big Slick

Level 13 : Blinds 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Kevin Klassen
Kevin Klassen

Kevin Klassen got all of his chips in the middle preflop against chip leader Elvis Toomas.

Kevin Klassen: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Elvis Toomas: {k-}{k-}

Toomas was in a great spot to extend his lead but that all changed on the {3-Spades}{8-Spades}{9-Spades} flop. Klassen flopped the nut flush and {4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} runout changed nothing as he put a dent in the stack of Toomas.

Wrath of Khan, McGowan Falls to Aces

Level 14 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Suhail Khan
Suhail Khan

On the {8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop Suhail Khan shoved and Jonathan McGowan called to put himself at risk.

Suhail Khan: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Jonathan McGowan: {j-}{j-}

Both players had overpairs, but McGowan was in trouble with hooks. The {5-Clubs}{a-Clubs} runout only improved Khan to trip aces and he became one of the chip leaders as play begins to wind down.

End of Day Approaching

Level 15 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

A string of knockouts has left the field just 2 players off ending the night.
