The MSPT United States Poker Championship hits the home stretch this weekend, with the $1,110 Main Event taking center stage. The series schedule includes 11 events, however, with the bulk of the schedule playing out earlier this week at Sycuan Casino.

Event #9: $250 Hump Day NLH, played out on Wednesday, Sept. 22. Colorado resident Justin Lynch took down the tournament.

Muallem Takes the Chip Lead

Noam Muallem is the first to go over 300,000 chips on Day 1c, and he told PokerNews the details of the hand that put his stack at that level.

Muallem opened to 4,000 under the gun, got three-bet to 14,000 by the button, and made the call.

Muallem check-called a 14,000 bet on the {j-}{8-}{2-} rainbow flop. The turn came {6-}, and Muallem's opponent shoved for 90,000. Muallem made the call.

Joe Serock Ends Day 1c With the Chip Lead at the MSPT Sycuan Casino $1,110 Main Event

The centerpiece event of the MSPT United States Poker Championship hits the final round on Sunday. Saturday's Day 1c flight played out as the last of three starting phases in the MSPT Sycuan Casino $1,110 Main Event in San Diego, CA.

A total of 201 entries registered for Day 1c, and 29 players bagged at the end of the night. Joe Serock (385,000) ended Day 1c with the biggest chip stack from Sunday's flight.

Other big bags from Day 1c included Blaine Thomas (359,000), Allen Galutera (338,000), and Anthony Nguyen (290,000).

The 29 survivors from Day 1c will join the 12 players that made it through Day 1a, and the 19 combatants that emerged from Day 1b. The combined field of 60 players returns for Day 2 on Sunday, beginning at 11 a.m.

Some of the names not making through on Day 1c included Nick Pupillo, Andrew Moreno, Chris Carney, Nicholas Smith, and DJ Buckley.

The total prize pool is $440,820, with Sunday's winner set to take home $94,776. Sunday's action resumes on Level 14, with 17 minutes remaining. The tournament will continue through 40-minute levels, moving to 30-minute levels when heads-up play is reached.
