Riess Out

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player open-limped in early position and Ryan Riess raised to 20,000 from middle position, which constituted most of his remaining stack. Action folded around to the player on the button, who re-raised to 40,000. Everyone else folded back around to Riess, who called off to put himself at risk.

Riess: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Button: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}

It was a race, but the {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop left Riess drawing to runner-runner. The {7-Hearts} left Riess drawing dead and a meaningless {4-Hearts} completed the board, eliminating Riess from Day 1b.

Marquez Shows an Ace

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Anthony Marquez opened to 2,600 from the cutoff and found one caller in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and Marquez continued for 2,100 after being checked to. His opponent called.

Both players checked the {10-Clubs} turn, however, the player in the big led out for 9,000 on the {5-Spades} river. Marquez gave it some thought and eventually folded an {a-Spades} face up.

Moon Four-Bets

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

A player in the cutoff raised to 3,000 and action folded to the player in the small blind, who three-bet to 11,000. Benjamin Moon, who was in the big, paused before sticking in a four-bet to 28,000.

The initial raiser folded after a bit of thought and the small blind folded immediately, conceding the pot to Moon.

Cada Ships It

Level 11 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Joe Cada
Joe Cada

In what appeared to be a three-bet pot on a flop of {q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, Joe Cada checked from the lojack to his lone opponent in the hijack, who bet 25,000. Cada then check-raised all in for a bit over 60,000 — sending his opponent deep into the tank.

He eventually folded and Cada scooped the pot.

Aces No Good For Affleck

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Matt Affleck
Matt Affleck

Matt Affleck opened to 4,500 from the lojack and action folded to the player in the small blind, who three-bet to 12,000. It was then folded back to Affleck, who smooth called.

Affleck's opponent continued for 13,500 on the {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop and Affleck called.

The small blind then shoved for a bit less than 100k when the {5-Clubs} came in on the turn. Affleck called instantly for less to put himself at risk.

Affleck: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Small blind: {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The small blind had flopped two-pair and had Affleck drawing slim. The {j-Hearts} river sealed Affleck's fate and he was sent to the rail.
