The four players saw the flop come . Pantling led out for 675,000. Newey quickly folded. Einhorn called and Salomon folded.
Both players checked the on the turn, and the river was the . Pantling bet 800,000. Einhorn thought a minute, then raised to 2,200,000. Pantling called and the players tabled their cards.

A fascinating hand involving Haralabos Voulgaris and Yaqi Sun just played out at Table 11. As Bob Safai put it after the hand. "That was some bad s**t right there boys."
The hand started with a raise to 250,000 from Voulgaris (cutoff) and Sun defended from the big blind. Sun called bets of 275,000 and 425,000 respectively on the flop and turn, but the river is where it got really interesting.
Sun very deliberately counted out his stack to see how much he had left (2,275,000) this took about 30 seconds and he then bet 1,275,000 to leave exactly 1,000,000 back. "What's going on? I'm confused," said Voulgaris as he leant forward. "You want me to call or you want me to fold?" asked Voulgaris to Sun, who didn't answer. "You could have the flush, that's a possibility," he added.
The Canadian then cut out the calling chips from his stack, paused a few beats and then called. Sun turned over for a pair of fours, Voulgaris had him beat with and is now one of the chip leaders.
James Bord raised to 275,000 and Patrick Madden three-bet to 625,000. Paul Phua then four-bet to 1,100,000. Bord got out of the way, and Madden reraised all in. Phua insta-called.
Phua:
Madden:
The board ran out . Phua's aces held up, and Madden was eliminated in a cooler. With Madden's bustout, there are now 22 players remaining.
We walked up to table 11 when there was already quit a lot of some chips in the middle.
On a flop of we saw Talal Shakcerchi with a bet of 300,000 in front of him, while Anatoly Gurtovoy, who had apparently check-raised, had 800,000 out. Shakerchi shoved all in and Gurtovoy instantly called.
Anatoly Gurtovoy:
Talal Shakcerchi:
The on the turn brought some help to Shakerchi but not enough to get him in front.
The on the river was a blank and Gurtovoy was visibly excited. He held out his wrist in front of his neighbor Haralobos Voulgaris and Voulgaris took his pulse and confirmed Gurtovoy was very excited doubling up.
The table laughed, including Shakerchi who aprted ways with 4,910,000 in chips and was left short.
Tony Bloom came into play as the shortest stack and he never managed to find that double up to get him back in the game. Down to 1,225,000 he moved all-in with from under-the-gun and almost got it through. But, Paul Phua woke up with pocket jacks in the big blind and held up on a run out.
Bloom indicated to Phua that he's going to stick around so we may well see him in side events or cash games over the weekend.
From early position Haralabos Voulgaris opened with , Yaqi Sun moved his short stack in with pocket fours and, when it folded back to him, Voulgaris called the extra.
The run out meant Sun was rivered out of the tournament and Voulgaris's excellent start to the day continues.
