Lewis Loses One

Level 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Chris Lewis, winner of the PPC Studz Summer Splash for $19,500, raised from early position to 1,025. Action folded to the player in the big blind, and he reraised to 2,425. Lewis called.

The flop came down {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}, and the big blind checked. Lewis checked behind to see the {K-Clubs} land on the turn. The big blind checked again, and Lewis bet 3,100. His opponent called. After the {2-Diamonds} landed on the river, both players checked.

The big blind tabled the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} for top two pair, and Lewis mucked his hand.

Interestingly enough, when Lewis won the PPC Studz Summer Splash event, he defeated Frankie Zayas heads up and Damien Simon came in third place. Both Zayas and Simon are at the table with Lewis here today.

Nines for Rodriguez

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

On the {10-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, David Tuthill and Neil Rodriguez were heads up. Tuthill was first to act and fired 1,300. Rodriguez made the call, and the dealer burned and turned the {2-Diamonds}. Tuthill checked, Rodriguez bet 2,100, and Tuthill called. After the {Q-Spades} completed the board on the river, both players checked.

Rodriguez tabled the {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for a pair of nines. Tuthill couldn't beat it, and his hand was sent to the muck.

Tuthill Takes One from Rodriguez

Level 8 : 300/600, 100 ante

From middle position, David Tuthill raised to 1,400. Neil Rodriguez called from the next seat in the hijack position, and everyone else folded. From thee, the dealer dealt the {Q-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, and Tuthill bet out 1,350. Rodriguez called.

Both players then checked after the {2-Diamonds} paired the board on the turn and the {A-Spades} completed the board on the river. Tuthill showed the {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} to beat Rodriguez's {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and rake in the pot.
