Esfandiari Wins Without a Showdown

With 1,650 in the pot after the preflop action, the flop came down {7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. Two players checked it over to Antonio Esfandiari who bet 1,300.

One opponent came along as the {10-Spades} hit the turn. It was checked to "The Magician" again and this time he bet 2,500. His opponent called again and the {5-Diamonds} landed on the river.

After a third check from his opponent, Esfandiari took him time before betting 3,300. A quick fold gave the pot to Antonio and took his stack to about 22,000.

ElkY And Perrault Are Not Flushed With Success

Gross-pellier

Just moments into level two, we've lost both Pascal Perrault and ElkY.

There had been an early position limp before Perrault had raised to 300. One player called behind before ElkY called in the big blind, the limper also called.

The flop was {K-Spades} {3-?} {6-Spades} and ElkY led out for 525, the first limper called and Perrault raised to 1,500. The second limper folded but both Elky and the original limper called.

The turn was an offsuit {5-?} and it was checked to Perrault who bet 5,000. Elky and the other player both called.

On the {A-Spades} river, Elky moved all-in for his last 12,000 or so with the player behind him calling after tanking for a minute. Perrault then made the overcall for less and we saw a showdown.

ElkY: {5-Spades} {3-Spades}
Happy Middle Player: {10-Spades} {7-Spades}
Perrault: {K-?} {K-?}

Elky and Perrault were both eliminated as a result.

Lag-ering Behind

Can He Tore-k The Talk?
Can He Tore-k The Talk?
Tore Lagerborg raised to 250 preflop and received the regular four callers. It was checked to the Norwegian on the {8-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {4-Clubs} flop and his bet of 800 reduced the callers by half, with just two players continuing.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} and Lagerborg fired again, 2,400 this time getting rid of another player but the small blind remained resolute.

Both checked the {2-Hearts} river and Lagerborg immediately mucked when he saw his opponent's {5-Hearts} {5-Diamonds}.

Rees-Brennan Gets Opponent To Muck Top Full House...

Talk about luck of the Irish...

Rory Rees-Brennan fired out on a {Q-Diamonds} {10-?} {3-Diamonds} board with {A-?} {K-Diamonds} after his opponent had checked before both checked a third diamond on the turn.

The river was the {10-Diamonds} and Rees-Brennan's opponent checked again, the Irishman bet 4,500 and his opponent had clearly seen the fourth diamond but had not seen that the board had paired! He then folded {Q-?} {Q-?} face up as a result.

Rees-Brennan waited until the dealer mucked the cards before turning over his hand to win the pot, which was when his opponent realised his terrible mistake...

Drawing to a Boat, Man

Ross Boatman

Annette Obrestad opened the pot with an early-position raise to 150, and seven people came along with the call.

The flop came out {3-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}, and the first five players checked, including Obrestad. Action was on Huck Seed, and he led out with a bet of 1,300. Ross Boatman made the call in the next seat as the rest of the table folded out of the way.

Heads up then, the turn revealed the {2-Hearts}. Seed checked this time, and Boatman flicked out one of the big pinkish-red T5,000 chips. Huckleberry gave him a good hard look before uncapping his cards and holding them near the muck, seemingly trying to convince himself that a fold was in order. Eventually, he mumbled, "I might have one out," and open-mucked his {3-Spades} {3-Clubs}.

A short conversation ensued, and both men seemed content with the result at the end of their chat. That pot moves Boatman up to about 22,000, slipping Seed back to 17,500.
