Irwinning

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

A player in the hijack opened for 20,000 and Yuri Takhalov three-bet to 55,000 in the cutoff. After the button folded Irwin Reiter made his stand with a four-bet shove for 160,000 total, and both the hijack and Takhalov smooth called to put him at risk.

This action left the hijack with approximately 200,000 behind, while Takhalov held 350,000 at the time.

The dealer fanned a {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{q-Hearts} flop and both players checked, bringing the {10-Spades} to the table on the turn. The hijack then shoved all in and Takhalov leaned back in his chair at the sight of such a big bet, hut despite appearing attached to his hand, it soon went sailing into the muck.

Reiter: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Hijack: {A-Clubs}{q-Spades}

both players had hit the flop hard, but Reiter was in trouble as his top pair/top kicker combination was second best to top two.

River: {j-Hearts}

At the sight of such a disastrous river card, one which gave Reiter the winning hand with Broadway, the hijack player slumped back and held his hands to his heads, devastated that such a large pot had been snatched from him in so cruel a fashion.

Cleverly Takes Out Takhalov

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

We missed the action, but Yuri Takhalov was just eliminated by Mark Cleverly over on Table 3.

When we arrived, the board was completed {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}, and Takhalov had {8-Hearts}{3-Spades} sitting in front of him. His two pair was crushed by Cleverly's {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} for trip queens, and after the stacks were verified, Takhalov was off to collect his winnings from the cage.

Cleverly dragged the pot, and is back up to 950,000 chips.

A few hands later, Jim McMillin was eliminated with unknown action.

All Class

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

Yingxen Chen open-shoved from early position for around 200,000 or so, and the action folded to Jason Deichelbor in the big blind. He called all in for less, both blinds released, and the hands were opened.

Chen: {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Deichelbor: {j-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Before the runout, Deichelbor got out of his seat and extended his hand to Chen.

"Good luck," Deichelbor told Chen.

It was Deichelbor who needed assistance from Lady Luck after the dealer fanned a flop of {7-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, but unfortunately for the South Carolina native the turn and river bricked {10-Hearts}, {k-Diamonds} respectively.

Deichelbor hit the rail, while Chen chipped up to around 350,000.

Battle of the Blinds

Level 22 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante

John Meyer raised to 52,000 out of the small blind, Paul Spitzberg re-raised to 112,000 in the big blind, and Meyer announced he was all in.

The all-in bet was for around 360,000, and Spitzberg studied it for a bit before folding. He said that he mucked {a-}{10-}.

Gary Jan Levin Doubles Through

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

After an undetermined opening raise by John Meyer, Gary Jan Levin three-bet, only to see Meyer shove all in for 236,000 effective.

Jan Levin snapped the bet off while tabling {j-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, which put him in great shape to double up when Meyer rolled over {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}.

Sure enough, the board rolled out {10-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} to leave the fishhooks in the lead, and Jan Levin finally exhaled while letting loose with a little celebration.

McGee Gets Coolered

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

Kevin McGee moved all in for 231,000 in the cutoff, Joe Rodriguez woke up with aces in the big blind.

McGee: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Rodriguez: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}

"Aces in the big blind?" McGee asked, incredulously.

The aces held up on a board of {q-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and McGee hit the rail. Rodriguez is up to around 600,000 chips.

Spitz-Takes

Level 21 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante

With a flop of {3-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades} already dealt, Paul Spitzberg saw his opponent bet 28,000 and he flatted in position to see the {8-Clubs} fall on the turn.

The flop bettor tried again with a bet of 42,000, but he surrendered to the pressure play when Spitzberg made it 50,000 more.
