Romanello in the Hunt For Second WPT Title

Level 7 : 250/500, 75 ante

Roberto Romanello has already tasted success on the World Poker Tour with the popular Welshman having won the WPT Bratislava Main Event in 2011. Now he's in the hunt for the 2015 UK title and although he's not got off to the best of starts, he's just won a small pot to begin the rebuilding process.

Romanello raised to 1,325 from middle position and Waheed Ashraf called on the button. The Welshman then continued on the {8-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{2-Spades} fop with a 2,700 and shraf open-folded {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

C-Bet Wins Pot for Sly

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Damon Bancroft-Hall started the betting with a raise to 1,250 from late position, a raise that was called by Chung Hoang in the cutoff, and Athir Ali in the small blind. Sly spoiled the party by raising to 4,400 and only Hoang called.

Sly led for 2,500 on the rather innocuous looking {10-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop and Hoang get out of the way without much thinking time.

Mallu Mauls Kempe

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Ali Mallu has a reputation for playing a highly aggressive style where hand selection is way down the list of requirements of what's needed to get involved in a pot. However, these types of players still get dealt good hands on occasion like the rest of us mere mortals.

Rainer Kempe was all-in and at risk of elimination, his {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} needing some help from the board as Mallu had called with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. It was Mallu who tightened his grip on the hand, improving to a set on the {7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} flop. The {7-} turn locked up the hand for Mallu and Kempe was already making his way from the table by the time the {10-} completed the board.

Dangerous Board For Frankie's hand

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Chin Chai Koh, otherwise known as Chinese Frankie, raised to 1,400 from under the gun and Antoine Saout was his only customer from his seat on the button. Frankie check-called a 1,000 bet on the {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{K-Spades} flop before both players checked the {J-Clubs} turn and {A-Hearts} river.

Frankie flipped over {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} which was good enough to win the pot because Saout mucked. Frankie finished third in the WPT500 UK for a cool £60,000 and a similar result in the main event would be well received by the Dusk Till Dawn faithful.

Citrone Somehow Wins the Pot

Level 8 : 300/600, 75 ante

Carlo Citrone opened to 1,200 from the button and both Barry Sedgwick and John Stanley called from the blinds.

All three players checked the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs} flop. Sedgwick checked the {6-Hearts} turn, Stanley bet 1,200 and both Citrone and Sedgwick called.

The river was the {J-Hearts}, Sedgwick checked, Stanley bet 1,300 and both players called.

Sedgwick mucked, Stanley flashed the {6-Diamonds} and Citrone won the pot with {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.
