Cory Carroll entered the day as the chipleader. On Hand #8, he won the first of what might be several pots against David "The Dragon" Pham. With the chiplead, Carroll can afford to play looser and see more flops than the rest of the table. The Dragon is a cagey player and has been known to play a lot of hands. The aggressiveness of The Dragon combined with the Carroll's big stack could mean some explosive action somewhere down the line.

Chad Brown was a 4 to 1 dog when the cards were dealt, but outflopped Vasile Buboi. But a little luck fell Buboi's way when caught his two outer on the turn to regain the lead. That was the classic suck out, then re-suck.
