Marc Fratter Eliminated in 9th Place ($23,933), Ed Jatho Eliminated in 8th Place ($35,900)

Two Players Eliminated on Hand #1
Two Players Eliminated on Hand #1
Hand #1:

Marc Fratter has the button in Seat 7.

Timothy Miles raises to 22,000, Ed Jatho re-raises to 45,000, Fratter calls on the button, Miles re-raises to 120,000, Jatho moves all-in, Fratter calls, and Miles calls.

Miles: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}

Ed: {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}

Mark: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The flop is {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. The turn is the {5-Clubs}. There is over 1.4 million in the pot.

"Give us a face card, please!" cries Jatho.

The river, though is the {6-Diamonds}, and we lose two players on the very first deal! Since Jatho had more chips to start the hand than Fratter, he'll receive 8th place money, while Fratter will finish 9th.

After the hand, Floyd Vanderford says to his opponents, "This is my first final table. Do they all start like this?"

Vanderford {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The flop is {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, the turn is the {K-Clubs}, the river is the {6-Spades} and Vanderford doubles through Ceci.

Jatho Stayed True to His Word

Earlier in the day, we had the opportunity to talk with Ed Jatho, and one of the tournament staffers was trying to give Jatho advice on how to proceed in today's event. They told him that he could "probably sit back and make at least 6th place." Jatho looked at him and said, "Have you seen me play? Does it look like I am going to sit back and wait? No way!"

Jatho kept true to his word and played hard. Unfortunately he ended up finishing in 8th place.

Jatho did comment earlier that he would be happy regardless of where he finished. He is a stockbroker by trade, and any finish today would be a "great turn on investment."
