Day 1 Started

Welcome to Day 1 of WSOPC Chester Main Event

Last year's winner Kenny Nguyen
Last year's winner Kenny Nguyen

We're all set to kickoff Day 1 of the World Series of Poker Circuit Chester Main Event located at Harrah's Casino and Racetrack alongside the Delaware River. With only one more stop left on the calendar to qualify for the WSOPC National Championship there's a slew of players here hunting for valuable points.

As of now, 100 points is the cutoff to qualify for the freeroll that will be televised on ESPN. That number is sure to creep up a little bit by the end of the New Orleans circuit stop.

Last year's winner, Kenny Nguyen, will be looking to defend his title and punch his ticket for the National Championship. Last year's final table featured Robert Scott, Ari Engel and Huy Nguyen with Jake Toole and Roland Isra also making the money.

The 2011 event saw 269 players take to the felt and we're looking to match that number in the first flight. Each flight today will play nine levels before bagging and tagging for Day 2. Follow all the WSOPC action live on PokerNews.com.

We're Off to a Slow Start

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

It looks to be we have around 100 players in the room at the moment. There's a slow trickle of players entering the room. There's a bunch of seats to be filled and a couple lonely dealers waiting for their tables to be filled.

Hankins Mucks

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

We found Matthew Hankins locked up in hand with an unknown opponent. The board read {K-Spades} {4-Hearts} {A-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {5-Hearts}, Hankins checked and his opponent bet 1,200 into 2,500 pot. Hankins took a moment and then tossed in a call. His opponent tabled {A-Diamonds} {10-Spades} and Hankins mucked.
