With the flop reading , Kyle Cartwright was heads up in the pot with Craig Bergeron. Cartwright bet 450 only to find Bergeron push out a raise, making it 2,100. Cartwright called and the turn brought the . Cartwright checked and Bergeron slowed down, checking as well.
The river came and Cartwright put 6,200 in the middle. Bergeron sat riffling chips for a moment and then asked Cartwright how much he had left. Cartwright counted out roughly 33,000 and showed it to Bergeron. Bergeron announced "All in" but before he could even get out his last syllable, Cartwright yelled "Call!" and stood up, tabling for a straight flush.
Bergeron calmly waited for the chips to be counted, learned that Cartwright had him covered, and finally shook his head solemnly as he walked toward the exit. Cartwright, on the other hand, now has a substantial chip lead.
We saw Amanda Musumeci go to a flop out of position of . She bet 650 and her opponent on the button called. The turn brought the and Musumeci bet 1,300. Her opponent gave her a good stare and raised to 2,700. Musumeci sat for a moment, riffled her chips, did a quick count of her stack and nonchalantly tossed in a call.
The river brought the and she checked. Her opponent fired out 3,800 and Musumeci sat still for a moment before moving all in. Her opponent snap-called and tabled . Musumeci had bad news for him when she tabled for an overset.
Tripp Kirk was heads up in a pot with the board reading . His opponent checked and Kirk fired out a bet of 2,500. His opponent reached toward his stack and quickly dropped 7,000 total. Kirk announced that he was all in and was snap-called by his opponent who tabled for the straight. Kirk showed and would need help to stay alive.
The turn and river came and respectively, bringing no help to Kirk.
Miguel Borrero's starting stack had been trending downwards all day, but now he's making the push up. He got in a hand with Edward Pham when Pham opened for 700 and Borrero raised to 1,525. Pham called and watched the flop fall . Pham checked, Borrero bet 2,000 and Pham folded.
This confusing hand occurred as the field was going on break. Tuan Phan was in a hand with two other opponents - one of them very short-stacked. After the flop of the short stacked player moved all in, the second player made a small raised and Phan tossed in a bunch of oversized chips.
"I just misclicked," Phan said when his opponent called putting 98% of his chips at risk. The turn came and the remaining 275 went in the middle. The river came and Phan tabled for a full house and the other two mucked their hands.
With that misclick, Phan is now atop the chip counts.
Allen Kessler opened up with a raise preflop and was three-bet by Chip Ervin from the small blind. Kessler called from the button and the flop came . Ervin continued his aggression, betting out 5,100. "The Chainsaw" stacked his chips up and pushed them all into the middle.
Ervin seemed irked with the situation, and eventually tossed his hand into the muck, awarding Kessler a fair sized pot.
