Big Bet Confuses Frangos

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

There seems to be an interesting case of "betting way more then the pot" going around in the room. We already told you about Kyle Bowker busting after his opponent bet 13,000 on the river with 2,000 in the pot, and we just saw a similar bet be made on Nick Frangos

This time, Frangos raised to 550 preflop, and found a call from the hijack and the big blind. The flop came down {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}, and the big blind checked to Frangos, who fired out 625. The hijack didn't take long to announce "raise" and threw out a grey T5,000 chip. The big blind quickly folded, and Frangos flashed a confused look at his opponent, before folding after 30 seconds of thought.

After that hand, Frangos is down to 9,500.

For the Nguyen

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Hoa Nguyen was just now pushing all in on fourth street with the board showing {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} and getting a caller in his lone opponent. Nguyen turned over {6-Spades}{4-Spades} for a straight, while his opponent had {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush draw.

The river brought the {Q-Diamonds}, and Nguyen doubled back up nearly twice the starting stack.

Clinkscales Looks to Add to Lead

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Rex Clinkscales is the current leader of the overall WSOP Circuit board, sitting on 245 points thanks to his 12 cashes. He is looking to add to that point total today, but it hasn't been the best day for him. Clinkscales quickly busted out of Day 1a earlier today, and after buying in late tonight, he is already down to 13,000. He will need to turn that around quickly if he wants to go for that 13th cash.

Reslock-ed Out

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

"So if you bust today you can still buy back in tomorrow?"

So asked a player at Christine Brewer's table just now, and she was able to provide a response.

"That's right... unless, you played Day 1a," she explained. "Don't tell him that!" cracked Travell Thomas, sitting to Brewer's left, and the table laughed.

Indeed, players who did not play in the earlier flight today who bust in tonight's Day 1b will have that option to buy in at the start of play at tomorrow's Day 2.

Alas for five-time WSOP-Circuit ring winner Chris Reslock, he won't be able to continue his quest for a record-tying sixth ring — and his second this week — as he was recently eliminated for the second time today.

Brewer has done well for the first half of the Day 1b flight, having more than doubled her starting stack. Meanwhile, Thomas — back for a second time today — has chipped up a bit from the 20,000 with which players began.

The Puppy Has Arrived!

Level 5 : 100/200, 25 ante

Oh yeah, and her owner Ting Ho as well. Ho has been grinding the circuit this year, and on occasions, her puppy Bella will come down to help her out with a couple decisions. Well Bella is relaxing in her lap while Ho grinds the tournament. She brought in late and is still around her starting stack.
