Matt Glantz Eliminated in 27th Place ($5,427)

Level 22 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Matt Glantz had nursed a short stack for the last couple of hours, making it all of the way to the final three tables. Finally his run has ended, however, after committing the last of his 100,000 or so with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and finding himself up against Sai Wang's {A-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

The flop came {7-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} to pair Wang's ten, although Glantz still had hopes of a spade flush. But the turn was the {9-Hearts} and river the {9-Diamonds}, and Glantz wished his opponents good luck before departing.

Jordan Turoff Eliminated in 26th Place ($5,427)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Dennis Thurman started the action by raising under the gun. It folded around to Jordan Turoff in middle position, and he shoved his last 66,000 into the middle. Action folded back around to Thurman, and he quickly made the call.

Turoff: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Thurman: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Turoff was already well behind, and he was nearly drawing dead when the flop came down {3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{k-Spades}. Turoff could only catch runner runner to survive, but the {6-Hearts} on the turn didn't provide any assistance, and the useless river was the {4-Diamonds}.

After that hand, Thurman is up to 485,000.

Masters Makes His Hand On the River, Doubles Big

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Thomas Sheets started raised it up to 26,000 in early position, and Gregory Masters was the lone caller in the small blind. The dealer fanned out a flop of {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, and Masters checked to Sheets, who fired out 23,000. After a few moments of thought, Masters assembled a check raise of 80,000, and slid it into the middle.

It was back on Sheets, and he deliberate for about a minute before tossing in the call. The {k-Hearts} on the turn was either going to be an action killer, or was going to set off fireworks. Fortunately for the fans, it was the latter. Masters shoved all in for his last 184,000 after a few moments of thought, and Sheets went deep into the tank. After at least two minutes of thought, Sheets said "S**t I'm in a tough spot here sorry guys." After another minute or so, he emerged with the call.

Masters: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Sheets: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

I told you the turn was going to set off fireworks. Sheets made a great call with his two pair, but he would still have to fade the flush and straight draw outs of Masters. The flush didn't come, but the {9-Diamonds} did. Masters quietly clapped his hands, though a bigger celebration would have been allowed, as he jumped all the way up to 575,000. On the other end, Sheets went down to 340,000 after the hand.

Norman Michalek Eliminated in 25th Place ($5,427)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We've just had a major tangle between the chip leaders, the result being an elimination and a major move of chips.

Joseph McKeehen opened for 25,000 from early position, then Norman Michalek reraised to 62,000 from a seat over. It folded back to McKeehen who sat quietly for a moment, then pushed out a column of chips to make it 128,000 to go.

Michalek responded quickly by saying he was all in, and McKeehen instantly called.

Michalek: {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}
McKeehen: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, the result being flushes for both, but the nut flush for McKeehen. Suddenly Michalek is out, and McKeehen is edging toward 1.5 million.

Jeffery West Eliminated in 24th Place ($6,302)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Earlier this evening Joseph McKeehen was joking about too-good-too-be-true, "made-for-TV" hands. And now at the end of the night he's been involved in just such a sequence... something that had to be seen to be believed.

On the very next hand following McKeehen's elimination of Norman Michalek, he opened again with a raise and got a single caller in Jeffery West from the blinds. The flop came {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{J-Hearts}, and when West led with a bet McKeehen put in a hefty raise. West thought a bit, then called all in.

West showed {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for top pair. McKeehen then tabled his hand... {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}! Pocket aces on consecutive hands! And after the {2-Hearts} turn and {5-Clubs} river, consecutive knockouts for McKeehen as well.

That sequence catupults McKeehen up around 1.8 million, about twice that of his nearest competitor.

Randy Nelson Eliminated in 23rd Place ($6,302)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Action folded all the way around to Tony Sinishtaj in the small blind, and he moved all in, easily having the big blind, Randy Nelson, covered. Nelson looked down at his cards, and immediately slid his chips into the middle.

Nelson: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Sinishtaj: {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Sinishtaj said that he only looked at the king when he moved all in, and as it turns out, it was a blessing in disguise, as Sinishtaj hit the {9-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop. Nelson caught flush draw outs when the {6-Hearts} hit the turn, but the {10-Clubs} gave him no lifeline.

Nelson headed to the payout desk while Sinishtaj stacked his new chips, putting him at 651,000.

Xiaofeng Hu Eliminated in 22nd Place ($6,302)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

We didn't catch the action as it happened, as we were watching another hand play out at a different table. However, we did walk over when we heard "payout", and saw that Hu's {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} had failed to hold up against the {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} of Hend Matthews. The board ran down {9-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, and Matthews's queens and jacks were good enough to collect the bounty.

Matthews upped her stack to 680,000 after winning that pot.

Matthew DeLuca Eliminated in 21st Place ($7,412)

Level 23 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

The knockouts keep coming here during the final level of the night. The latest to go was Matthew DeLuca, with the last of his chips going across the table to Dave Fox.

DeLuca was all in and at risk with {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} and hoping to catch versus Fox's {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. But the board ran out {8-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{J-Hearts}, giving Fox a straight and ending DeLuca's run in 21st place.
