James Woods is starting to develop a little feud with one of the players at the table. In one hand he described to us, a player had moved all in for 5,000, and he raised to 15,000 with . Another player called the 15,000 and the flop came .
The player who was first to act bet 15,000 and after an agonizing tank. Woods asked the man what he had, and the man told him he had a set.
"Why would you tell me that?" Woods asked.
"My son is a big fan of your movies and he would kill me if I knocked you out," the man replied.
Woods eventually told us that he folded his two Kings face up, thinking that his opponent had flopped a set.
And indeed he did as Woods told us that the other player turned up for top set.
After the hand, the two men had a good talk, and Woods said that if he cashes in the tournament, he'll buy that man a car.
We missed the bustout hand but Eric Baldwin was kind enough to let us know how Alex Masek busted from the tournament.
One player opened to 2,200 and Masek moved all in for about 15,000, Baldwin told us. Baldwin then made the call with and the other player folded. Baldwin held against Masek's and that was all she wrote.
When we got to the table, Kathy Liebert had gotten her stack of around 25,000 all in preflop against one opponent.
"I know you got me," he said. "I knew when you called that quick you had to have a pair."
Liebert was holding against her opponents so it looked good for her to double up.
The flop was a safe , but it did give her opponent four extra outs.
But the table erupted in "ahhs," and pained sighs when the fell.
"Seven?" Liebert asked the dealer, hoping even for a chop. But it was the on the river giving her opponent a full house and sending Liebert out the door.
We walked by table 61 and Doug Lee informed us that his stack had jumped yet again, this time to 89,000. So we asked Lee what he was eating to make his chip stack grow. Apparently, Jason Bundy has a box of green Tic Tacs going around the table and being shared, and that's not the only thing Bundy is sharing.
He's also been sharing his chips after a streak of doubling other players up. Most recently he doubled up a player with suited against . Bundy has dropped down to about 75,000.
Alex Masek just dropped back to near starting stack after making the wrong call.
Preflop, a player raised to 2,000, which Masek three bet to 4,400 from the button. The player called and the flop came . The player first to act checked. Masek bet 3,800 and the player called.
The turn was the and action went check, check. On the river, the player first to act bet 7,000 and after a spell in the tank, Masek made the call. The player showed and that was good enough to take the pot away.
After a pretty slow start to the day, Doug Lee is finally finding his groove. We walked to his table and he had a freshly acquired stack of chips, nearing 80,000.
Lee, and another player at the table, told us about the hand that got him there. After two limps, Lee raised to 3,000 with and got two callers. On a flop, Lee bet 5,000 and got one caller. On the turn, Lee bet 8,000 and the other player shoved all in.
Lee called and was ahead of his opponents . The on the river was no help, and Lee moved up the leader board to just around 76,000 chips.
Actor James Woods, who is most recently famous for his appearances on Family Guy and also know for his movies Once Upon a Time in America and Casino is having quite a day here at the WSOPC Main Event Flight 1b.
We just saw him win yet another pot. In the hand, Woods raised to 3200 from middle position and action folded to the small blind who tanked before folding. The big blind also folded.
After the hand, Woods looked to the player in the small blind and asked, "You were thinking about it, did you have a big hand?"
"Big hand," The small blind said.
"How big?" Woods asked turning over . "Did we have the same hand?"
After that hand, Woods is nearing 80,000 chips.
"I have a big tell," he told us. "I bet, they fold."
