Batista Bets It All

We caught the action in a heads up pot on the turn, with the board showing {q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. There was about 8,500 in the middle, and Chad Batista had shoved for his last 5,500 when we got to the table. His opponent was already in the tank, and was there for about a minute before letting his hand go, and showing the {2-Spades}. The table chuckled, and Batista took the pot to get up to 16,000.

Day 1b About To Start

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Anyone who busted out of today's Day 1a will have the option to reenter into Day 1b. That is scheduled to start in just a few minutes, in a different room from here. We will walk over there in a few moments, and start up our coverage of that flight as well in this blog.

Jejelowo Jets Up the Leader Board

Well AJ Jejelowo is at it again. The amateur is known for playing a ton of pots, and either building up huge stacks, or punting them in the process. Today, it looks like he will be building, as he just won a big coin flip to take the chip lead in level 8.

When we got to the table, Jejelowo had already three bet a player to 2,500. One of the blinds open shipped for 14,000 total, and it was back to Jejelowo. He tanked for about 40 seconds before dropping in the call.

Jejelowo: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The board brought all of the high cards, coming {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, and Jejelowo's two pair scored him the knockout. After that hand, he is sitting on 68,000.

Internet Issues With Day 1b

Level 8 : 250/500, 50 ante

We apologize for the lack of updates from Day 1b. That tournament is being played in a different room all together from this one, and that room has very little to no internet for us. We are working on securing an ethernet cord, but for the time being, we will not be updating on 1b.
