Aaron Massey is the big name of the family in the poker world, but he also has a brother named Ralph who is starting to build up a poker resume of his own. Ralph has already notched two five-figure scores, the bigger one being an 8th place finish in the $3,200 Chicago Poker Classic earlier this month. He pocketed $33,860 for his efforts there.
Well the two brothers are sitting at adjacent tables, and seem to be having a ball, making bets with each other when they aren't in hands. It also helps that both Ralph and Aaron have already doubled their starting stacks on the day, with Aaron holding a slight edge at the moment.
The players are taking their last break of this flight, and it will be 15 minutes so that the blue T25 chips can be raced off. Once the players return, we will play two more hours before the survivors will bag up for the night.
The stacks keep getting bigger every time we walk the floor, but Jonathan Seelbach will likely have the lead for a good bit. While we are having trouble finding stacks over 100,000, Seelbach is nearing 200,000.
Seelbach made a deep run in the Main Event this past year, finishing just outside the top 100, in 101st place. Well today, he is sitting on 182,000, and is in great shape to enter Day 2 with a ton of chips.
Ray Henson was part of a three way pot that saw a flop of . The big blind checked to Henson who was under the gun preflop, and he made a bet of 3,100. He was called by the other opponent, while the big blind got out of the way.
Henson checked when the hit the turn, and his opponent fired out 5,000. Henson called, and the river was the . Both players checked, and Henson could not beat the that was tabled by his opponent.
After that hand, Henson dropped to 35,500, which is still much higher then he was just two hours ago.
We just had a brief conversation with Bicycle Casino Main Event Final Tablist Jared Ingles, who started the conversation by simply saying "busto." He confirmed that he would be back tonight to play in Day 1b, so we will see him again shortly.
