Chai Turns Three Treys To Double

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Paul Chai
Paul Chai

Paul Chai saw action folded to him in the small blind and raised to 195,000, putting action on Travis Fujisaka in the big blind. Fujisaka three-bet, sliding a decently-sized pile of pink T100,000 chips forward. Chai put all of his chips in and Fujisaka called off the difference.

Paul Chai: {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Travis Fujisaka: {a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Though his two unpaired cards were live, Chai wasn't thrilled to see that his diamonds were not. A three came in the window on the flop {3-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts} but there was a five-ball underneath, leaving him drawing even slimmer. The turn then fell {3-Spades} to improve him to trip treys, leaving him with two outs to sweat on the final card to earn a double. The river came {2-Clubs} and his stack was counted out to 830,000, which Fujisaka paid off.

"You're crazy, man," said Terence Reardon as Chai raked in his chips.

"Crazy good!" amended Paul Richardson.

"Crazy good," agreed Reardon.

Lucas Hangs In

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Terence Reardon opened to 80,000 from the hijack, and Landen Lucas three-bet all in for his 420,000 stack.

Reardon pondered the decision for a while. "If you have a pair, I'm crushed," said Reardon as he evaluated the situation.

Reardon eventually folded, keeping Lucas alive as Level 25 rolls on.

Shainiuk Leads Out, Double Barrels, Gets Fold

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Bobby Pham opened to 80,000 on the button, and Roman Shainiuk called in the big blind.

Shainiuk led out for 165,000 on the {3-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, and Pham called. Shainiuk fired again for 375,000 on the {j-Clubs} turn, and Pham folded.

"Show the bluff," said Paul Chai from across the table. Shainiuk showed the {a-Clubs} as he collected the pot.

Chai Scores Another Double

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Paul Chai raised to 115,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Roman Shainiuk, who was on the button and called. Action went heads up to a flop of {4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Hearts} and Chai checked to Shainiuk, who bet 300,000. Chai called.

The turn came {q-Diamonds} and Chai check-called another bet of 400,000 from Shainiuk. The river fell {8-Clubs}.

"All in," said Chai.

"Call," said the dealer immediately after as Shainiuk had dropped in a chip to call.

Chai tabled {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for aces up, having shoved after completing his two pair on the river.

Shainiuk dejectedly turned over {a-Spades}{j-Clubs}, showing he had been ahead until the final card of the hand. Nonetheless, he paid off the 875,000 that Chai had remaining, putting him to just over 1.5 million in chips. Meanwhile, Chai has assumed the chip lead with a stack of just shy of 3.5 million in chips.

Nat Squeezes, Takes Down Million-Chip Pot

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Terence Reardon opened to 125,000 from early position, Travis Fujisaka called in the hijack, and Arish Nat three-bet to 400,000 from the big blind.

Reardon folded, and Nat started to push his cards forward, apparently not realizing Fujisaka was still in the pot. Fujisaka then put together stacks of calling chips, and the two players went heads up to the flop.

That flop came {3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and Nat quickly went all in. Fujisaka folded, and asked Nat if he realized Fujisaka was in the pot preflop. Nat responded that he didn't, but took down a big pot nonetheless.

Richardson Re-shoves on Lucas

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Landen Lucas opened to 110,000 from the hijack and action folded around to Paul Richardson, who was in the big blind. Richardson took about 10 seconds before announcing he was all in, sliding forward a stack of chips in the process. Lucas folded, leaving himself 515,000 behind.

On the following hand, Lucas shoved all in from middle position and all players folded, resulting in him taking down the blinds to put another 100K back into his stack.

Nagar Gets One Through

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Soumitra Nagar took a few moments when the action came to him, preflop, in early position.

Nagar went all in for his 420,000 stack, and the action folded around to Paul Chai in the big blind. Chai. who's been the most vocal and unpredictable player at the table, started making a speech play.

"Want me to call?" asked Chai. "You know I have a big pair, right?"

Chai eventually folded, showing pocket sixes as he mucked. Nagar told Chai he could pick one of Nagar's cards to show, which ended up being the {j-Diamonds}.
