Charlie Coultas In the Lead Going Into the Final Day of the WSOPC Harveys Tahoe Main Event
The pinnacle of the 2019 World Series of Poker Circuit Harveys Lake Tahoe series has arrived, as the $1,700 Main Event is down to the final 10 competitors. The field trimmed down from 71 players to the final table on Day 2 Sunday, and the remaining 10 players will come back Monday to the Harveys Casino poker room in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, and play down to a champion.
Charlie Coultas (3,480,000) bagged the chip lead at the end of the night, surging to the top of the leaderboard in the later levels of Day 2 and maintaining that position through the final hours of play. Coultas will be looking to add to his impressive poker resume, which includes more than $500,000 in tournament earnings, with a deep run at the final table.

Competing with Coultas for the WSOPC ring, and first-place prize of $133,285, will be a loaded field. That field includes Michael Peterson (995,000), the 2016 champion in this event, as well as Lee Markholt (1,125,000), who comes into the final table with more than $4.3 million in career earnings.
Other players making it through Day 2 include Nick Pupillo (1,125,000), last year's runner-up in this event and a player with nearly $3 million in career earnings in his own right. Jeremy Kottler (1,285,000) is another tournament crusher at the final table, with more than $1.5 million in career earnings.
Play will resume at the beginning of Level 26 at noon Monday, with the blinds at 20000/40000/40000.
Day 2 play began with 71 players and 64 money spots up for grabs. Money finishers that fell short of the final table included Andreas Kniep (47th, $2,668), Giuseppe Pantaleo (43rd, $2,804), Kyle Cartwright (38th, $2,804), Sam Cosby (34th, $3,000), Joey Weissman (21st, $5,465), David Diiorio (16th, $6,478), and Paul Richardson (12th, $9,547).
The eliminations came at a brisk pace throughout the day, but play grinded to a halt with 13 players remaining. Those 13 players stayed in the mix for more than two hours, with a remarkable streak of short stacks winning all-in battles. Pearson was down to just four big blinds at one point, but the former champion in this event is in the hunt at the final table.
Coultas ended the night with a more than 2-to-1 chip lead over Wes Nally, second in chips with 1,400,000. Coultas has a big lead, but the chips are evenly distributed throughout the rest of the final table, with still plenty of opportunity for all remaining players to come away with the championship.
