Day 2 of WSOPC #1: BIG $50, $1M Gtd. is in the books, and after a bit over 7 hours of play, Aleksey "ImLuckPads" Savenkov from the Russian Federation leads the way into the final table on Day 3. Savenkov navigated their way through a crazy day, turning it on for the final two tables.

Savenkov was nearly out of the game a few levels before the end of the day. They got it in against "Adam Bonk" with the smallest stack and the worst hand with nines against jacks, but flopped a nine, and rivered the case nine for quads and huge double. They took the lead on the final hand of the night when they won a blind on blind fight to eliminate Matija "crunchy215" Dobric in 10th place.

Action on Day 2

It was a lightning fast start to the day as 3,345 players started the day at 1:30 p.m. eastern time, but they were down to the 1,600 paid spots within about an hour. It didn't slow down once they got into the money either, with the field down to under 150 players just a few hours later.

One of the players to make a surge as they played down was Christian Rudolph. He was playing a top ten stack for a good part of the middle section of the day, but ultimately couldn't make it any farther than 40th place. Other players to make a mark on Day 2 but ultimately fall short of the final day were Csaba "PumpedGabo" Szasz, Arold "WARRIOR2" Experience, Jessica Teusl, Paul "Pistolero99" Lozano, and Mike "SayHiToMum" Harb.

Other than big stack Savenkov, the other big story on the final table was "FreddieKadur". They went on a tear, becoming the first player to get more than 10M chips after a string of hands where they got there from behind to take big doubles. It was a roller coaster day for them, going from the biggest stack on the final five tables, to the smallest stack in the final 15. They ended the day bagging the sixth place stack for almost 20 big blinds going into Day 3.

With the chips all bagged up, players will return to action on Dec 19th, 2020 for the final table. Everyone returning is guaranteed at least $11,569, but they'll all be eyeing the almost $170K up top for the win. PokerNews will be here bringing you all the action from the final table next week.

"canister" shoved the middle for 347,812 and "FreddieKadur" called off in the big blind with the bigger stack. Both players had ace-three, but the clubs of "FreddieKadur" flopped the nut draw, and turned the steel wheel on {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} board to knock out "canister" in a hand that plays to a chop most of the time.

The next hand, "FreddieKadur" got it in again against two players including Hongye "zizhiyeyi" Zhang with ace-king, and hit an ace against ace-jack and fives to chip up to over 4.5M.

"FreddieKadur" raised the cutoff to 910K, enough to put the remaining players all-in if they wanted to play. Only "LTC Hong" elected to call off their stack, and got it in with the best hand. However, their ace-queen couldn't hold against king-ten on the {8-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{q-Spades} board as "FreddieKadur" straightened out with the river queen.
