Welcome to Day 2 of the 2020 WSOP Circuit Marrakech 15,000 MAD (€1,400) Main Event at the Casino de Marrakech located in the heart of the luxurious Es Saadi Resort.

The two opening flights attracted a huge field of 625 entrants, breaking a record for this tournament in its seven-event history. A total of 175 players survived in hopes of advancing today to tomorrow's final day where they will have a chance to win the coveted gold ring and what promises to be a massive prize.

Morroco's Ayman Jarrar kicks off the day with the chip lead after bagging a massive stack of 351,000 on Day 1a. On his tail are France's Marius Conan (299,000), Morocco's Ghassane Ghebbi (263,000), Spain's TMV (249,000), and Bulgary's Elvira Malay (245,000).

Defending champion Phillip Huxley also enters today's action with a big stack of 204,000 as does Jerome Zerbib (192,000) and Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes (186,000). PMU.fr, who is the online sponsor of the event, has two ambassadors advancing to today including Paul Guichard (130,000), Joffrey Lhote (74,000), and Erwann Pecheux (65,500)

Day 2 Structure

Day 2 is scheduled to feature 11 blind levels of an hour each. This could change at the tournament director's discretion. Payouts will be announced near the start of the day.

Willy Wonka Eliminates Kool Shen

Bruno "Kool Shen" Lopes began the day with a very healthy stack of 186,000. Unfortunately for him, he was unable to make it to the first break.

Lopes opened up from early position to 6,500 before a player with the nickname Willy Wonka three-bet to 17,000 from late position.

Lopes four-bet jammed for about 50,000 and Willy Wonka snap-called.

Huxley Doubles Daouhadji

Defending Champ Phillip Huxley chipped up a little to start the day but he just lost half his stack.

A player opened from middle position to 9,000 before Belmehel Dja Daouhadji three-bet to 25,000 from the button. Huxley four-bet to 68,000 from the small blind. The original raiser folded before Daouhadji five-bet jammed to 144,000. Huxley snap-called and players turned over their cards.

Huxley was marginally ahead when the chips went into the middle but his opponent took a big advantage in the hand after pairing the flop. Neither the on the turn nor the on the river was of any help to Huxley and Daouhadji won a big pot off the defending champion.

Cohen Bubbles the Main Event

Mohamed Bouzgarrou Eliminates Yohai Cohen on the Bubble

Mohamed Bouzgarrou jammed for about 150,000 from under the gun before Yohai Cohen called from one seat over for about 60,000. The rest of the table folded and players waited for the other tables to finish their hands before turning over their cards.

"Seven!" yelled Cohen as a big crowd gathered around the table.

No seven came as the ran out on the board and Yohai Cohen was eliminated on the bubble in 80th place.

Day 1b Chip Leader Conan Eliminated

Marius Conan jammed for about eight big blinds from the hijack with and was called by the player from the button with .

Despite initially looking good for a double, Conan was instead eliminated as his opponent paired his queen on the board.

Sick Runout Eliminates Lhote

TMV opened from early position for 25,000 before PMU.fr Ambassador Joffrey Lhote jammed for 210,000. TMV called and players turned over their cards.

Lhote was behind before and after the flop but then took a huge lead in the hand after the came on the turn to give him a full house. The completed the board on the river to give TMV a better full house and Lhote was eliminated in 44th place.

Zoubir Mahi hit the rail just before Lhote in 45th place and Andres Marques and Gaja went soon after.

White jammed for about 300,000 from early position with and Hills called off from one seat over with for 220,000. Marc Poustis called them both with from the small blind.

Hills put his hoodie on and appeared to get ready to leave but got back in his seat after he nailed a full house on the flop. Hills officially got a triple up after the came on the turn followed by the on the river.

Meanwhile, Poustis won the side pot and White was eliminated in 21st place. Shortly before this hand, Mohamed El Wely was eliminated in 20th place at the T.V. table.

Igna Poker Heads into the Final Day of the WSOPC Marrakech Main Event in the Chip Lead

The 2020 WSOP Circuit Marrakech Main Event at Casino de Marrakech, located in the heart of the Es Saadi Resort is in the books after nearly 11 blind levels of an hour each.

The day began with 175 hopefuls out of the original festival record-breaking field of 625 entrants. Payouts were soon announced straight after with the winner slated to receive 1,600,000 MAD (€150,400/$166,747) and the top 79 players guaranteed a min-cash of at least 28,000 MAD (€2,632/$2,918).

A Spanish player with the nickname Igna Poker bagged a Day 2 chip leading stack of 2,705,000 followed by Portugal's Rui Bouquet (2,335,000), Spain's TMV (2,180,000), and Switzerland's Samiyel Duzgun (2,035,000) and Christophe Panetti (1,250,000).

Day 1a chip leader Ayman Jarrar (1,130,000) and United Kingdom's Andrew Hills (625,000), who was short on chips the majority of the day, are also among the players to advance.

Among some of the notable players to cash on Day 2 but fail to advance to the final day included American globetrotter Corbin White (21st - 53,000 MAD/€4,982/$5,524), defending champion Phillip Huxley (27th - 46,000 MAD/€4,324/$4,794), Frederic Delval (37th - 40,000 MAD/€3,760/$4,169), PMU.fr Ambassador Joffrey Lhote (44th - 35,000 MAD/€3,290/$3,648), and Day 1b chip leader Marius Conan (73rd - 28,000/€2,632/$2,918).

Final Day Payouts

All of the 16 remaining players bagging chips will return to the final day featuring one-hour blind levels with at least a 16th place cash of 68,000 MAD (€6,392/$7,087).
