After chipping up most of the day Mike Spegal just lost a pot on the river. After a player raised in middle position Spegal re-raised to 25,000 to set the raiser all-in. The blinds got out of the way and the original bettor made the call with K-Q, while Spegal turned over 6-5. Spegal outflopped his opponent after the were spread, but after the turned his opponent caught the to win the pot and stay alive.
It seems like Jean-Robert Bellande has been in a lot of pots so far, but this is one he probably wishes he'd stayed out of. After the player on the button raised Bellande made a big re-raise. The button pushed in the rest of his chips and Bellande was committed to the call. His opponent had pocket sevens, while Bellande had 8-5 offsuit. "I'm not happy about that re-raise," Bellande said after the board didn't give him a glimmer of hope.
Gavin Smith raised with and Ken Koski moved all-in with pocket nines. The nine on the flop pretty much sealed the deal, but the case nine hit on the turn to make it definite. Smith is now down to 38,000.
