Ray Abels Is Eliminated in 8th Place

Ray Abels
Ray Abels
Running low on chips Ray Abels moved all-in for 144,000 and Ernest Bennett, one seat to Abels' left, made the call. Once again Bennett found himself in a race against A-Q, this time with pocket Sevens. The {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop gave Abels a gutshot straight draw, but the {3-Spades} on the turn and the {4-Spades} on the river didn't improve his hand and Abels was eliminated in 8th place, winning $26, 546. Bennett now has 1,180,00.

Thomas Catanzaro Doubles Up Through Ernest Bennett

Ernest Bennett has played big-stack poker ever since he became our chip leader, but this time he ran into trouble. From the cutoff he raised to 140K and Thomas Catanzaro moved all-in from the big blind for 270,000 total. Bennett made the call and turned over {9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, but Catanzaro held pocket Aces. The {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} never gave Bennett even a glimmer of hope and Catanzaro doubled up to 570,000.
