Brad Daugherty Chips Up

The 1991 World Champion moved all-in from the small blind with A-Q. The big blind, down to his last 15,000 or so, woke up with A-K and called. He looked to be in good shape to double up...right up to the point where the flop came Q-J-J. That pot put Daugherty's stack up to 60K.

Joel King Is Eliminated

After winning a big pot at the start of the day, Joel King lost a big pot that ended his day. After David Icke raised under the gun King came over the top for all his chips. Icke called and his A-Q dominated King's K-Q and Ace-high took the pot. King was eliminated in 88th place, while Icke built his stack to 110K.

Icke Spikes A Queen to Take The Chip Lead

We first noticed that someone big was going on when a player got up out of his chair so fast it fell over. Some, ah, colorful language ensued and we rushed over to see what happened.

Which was this: Tom "The Shamrock Kid" McCormick and David Icke got all the chips in the middle before the flop. And a lot of chips it was--over a quarter of a million, actually. McCormick turned over Kings, and Icke showed Queens. All McCormick needed to take over the chip lead was avoid a Queen...

And of course it was a Queen on the flop that set of McCormick. He was quite demonstrative in his displeasure, but his Kings were cracked and he was out of today's event. And David Icke is now our chip leader with 265,000.

The Ladies, They Are Fickle

Minutes ago David Icke won a big pot with pocket Queens, but just a few hands later he found himself racing against that same hand. Under the gun he raised to 12,000 with {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and Jack "The Staten Island Snake" Deutsch came over the top for his last 71,500. Icke called, Deutsch showed his Queens, and the race was on.

The {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop gave Deutsch a set but left open a gutshot draw for Icke. And incredibly, the {10-Diamonds} turned to make Icke's straight. That's when we noticed some commotion coming from that table, as the "The Snake" jumped out of his chair and he and his supporters on the rail called out for the board to pair on the river.

And on the river, the {10-Hearts}.

"WELCOME TO THE (EXPLETIVE DELETED) SNAKE PIT!!" Deutsch shouted as the chips were pushed his way. The modified F-bomb rule is apparently to The Snake's liking. He now has 165,000 chips, while Icke is down to 185K.
