The Bubble Bursts

The short-stacked David Gregory moved in with pocket Jacks and ran into another player's pocket Aces. The bullets held up and Gregory was eliminated in 100th place. He then walked away from the table.

Which was a mistake, because it turns out that two other players busted during the same hand. You might've heard of one of them--Joe Hachem. The other was Reva Alexander, and the three of them will chop the 99th and 98th place prize money.

If Gregory can be located. An annoucement was broadcast for him to return to his table, but he hasn't come back as yet. So, David, if you read this, go back to the Amazon Room. You cashed!

Hachem's Hand

As we mentioned below, 2005 World Champion Joe Hachem was eliminated from today's event, and here's how it happened. A player in middle position moved in with {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, the button called with {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and Hachem went all in with {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs}.

The flop? {A-Clubs}{9-Spades}{J-Diamonds}.

The {3-Spades} on the turn and the {4-Diamonds} on the river didn't help Hachem's and the worst hand going in took the pot. And that ended Hachem's tournament.

Phil Hellmuth Has Been Eliminated

Phil moved in the last of his stack under the gun with {A-Spades}{9-Clubs}, and was called by a player with {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}. The board of {4-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs} gave Phil a straight, but his opponent held the higher straight and knocked Phil out.

"I can't believe it," Phil said when the hand was over. "I played ten times as good as the rest of the field. This was the first time in two days I got my money in with the worst of it." A few players at Phil's table politely disputed his "ten times as good" claim.

Phil's out, but today was his record-setting 63rd World Series of Poker cash.
