Hal Lubarsky Shows Down a Winner With "Top Top"

The player under the gun limped in. Action folded around to Hal Lubarsky in the big blind, who raised to 8,500. The under-the-gun player reraised to 25,000 total. Lubarsky made the call and the two saw a flop heads-up...

{Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Lubarsky bet 22,000 and his opponent called. The turn brought the {3-Spades}. Lubarsky bet again, this time 40,000, and his opponent called. The river came the {J-Diamonds}. Both players checked. Lubarsky turned over {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and his opponent mucked. Lubarsky stacked the chips, which now total 230,000.

Daniel Negreanu

Negreanu made it 5,000 to go from middle position and the lone call came from Samir Shakhloor in the big blind.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Samir checked to Negreanu who led out with a 6,000 bet. Samir then check-raised all-in for a total of 21,100. "Kid Poker" made the call and Samir turned over the {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}, for top pair with a King kicker. Daniel then revealed {A-Spades}{Q-Spades} to the sound of cheer and applause from the gallery.

The turn and river blanked out and Samir said his goodbyes, as Negreanu raked in the pot, increasing his chip stack to 130,000 in chips.

Rain Khan Busts a Player

Board: 6-7-10-4-8

Rain Khan raises in early position to 6,000. A player moves all in for 13,700. He looks at Khan and says, "I know you're scared, and you're going to fold." (Big words, considering what table he's at!) The rest of the table folds and Khan, unnecessarily, moves in for 100,000 to make the call. Khan has J-J versus his opponent's A-Q offsuit. The board comes and Khan busts the player. He's at 450,000.

Opponent: {8-Spades}{4-Hearts}

Dicken was drawing to an ace or a three to win the pot, but caught neither. His opponent doubled through him and Dicken is down to 190,000.

Mimi Tran Stares Elimination in the Face

We caught up to this hand on the flop. The board read {Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}. Mimi Tran's lone opponent bet enough to put her all in. Tran made the call. The players showed...

Tran: {J-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}

Tran was two cards away from making her exit on Day 2b of this year's Main Event. The turn was a blank, coming the {8-Diamonds}. The river however, was the {J-Clubs}, giving Tran a set of jacks and the winning hand. With that double-up, Tran is up to 65,000 in chips.

Doyle Brunson's card protector and lucky charm is an object with the "Ghostbusters" symbol on it. It's nicknamed "Casper." There was an auction once and Howard Lederer was named as the beneficiary of Casper after Doyle passes on.

Doyle Brunson's daughter Pamela Brunson is borrowing Casper as her card protector at the moment. Right now on Day 2b, Pamela has around 91,000, and her brother Todd has 118,000 in chips.

That's a Lot of Tea

In the big blind and facing a raise from the button, Ben Lamb announced he was going to raise. The dealer pulled the button's raise and Ben's call portion into the center of the table, while Ben worked out the size of his raise.

He indicated the massive pile of chips in front of him and said, " All of it, all the tea in China."

His opponent must have been a coffee drinker, as his cards went straight into the muck.

Ben is up over 400,000 now.

15-Minute Break

Players are now on a 15-minute break. The tournament staff has informed the players that they'll play for an hour and 20 minutes after the break, before bagging up their chips for the evening.
