Tomko Looks to Tomorrow

Holding pocket rockets, Dewey Tomko called a shorter stack's all-in on a flop of {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, only to find himself up against jack-five. The turn and river didn't help Tomko, and he was down to 2,350.

A few hands later, Tomko pushed the rest of his chips in the middle after flopping an open-ended straight draw. He didn't get there, and has been eliminated.

Tangling with the World Champion

Jerry Yang, the defending WSOP Main Event Champion, limped in from early position. Mark Seif raised to 700 and a player in the cutoff called. James Hoeppner was all in on the button for 7,750 and Yang folded. Seif also folded, and so did the cutoff.

Rain is Reigning

Hevad "Rain" Khan, in early position, and a player in the cutoff got it all in preflop. Khan had {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and his opponent had {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. The board came {10-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Khan bulldozed his opponent. He's at 18,000.

Thirty-Six Tournaments in One

We ended up with 36 tables' worth of players at today's event.

By the way, we won't be entering chip counts today on the "Chip Counts" page, as they aren't meaningful in a compiled list. We will be adding players over there as we see them, though, and trying to keep up with bustouts over there, as well.

A-7 No Good for Jesus

A player under the gun raised to 800 and Chris "Jesus" Ferguson reraised all in for 5,200. The opponent called with {K-Spades}{K-Hearts} and Ferguson had {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. The board ran {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and the turned king took out Ferguson.

Rajkumar Knocks out Shaun Deeb

Vivek Rajkumar raised from late position to 800, the button called, and Shaun Deeb reraised all in from the small blind with his last 925. Rajkumar and the button both called.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, Rajkumar bet, and the button folded. Deeb showed {A-Spades}{J-Spades}, but Rajkumar had {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} for a pair nines. The turn and river brought no help for Deeb, and he's out.
